Brooks had a good point about the pressure on Shesty to be #1. He lit it up last season without that pressure.

Well the one really bright spot is Miller. Jesus the dude looks like he has played in the NHL for years. Matching up against Crosby too.

Also Fox who might win some Norris Trophies

Shesterkin has been lights out at every level, he needs to be better but I have faith he’s the heir to the thrown

So many question marks and fingers to point up and down the lineup, Laf’s start to his career has been unimpressive, Ziba hasn’t been dominant at all, Strome blows, the defense outside of Miller and Fox is brutal, we’re on a fast track to another lottery pick, this season will be over for teams off to. A bad start sooner than later, name of the game is points, we aren’t collecting them

No question he is going to be #1. Hasn't shown it this year though.

Doesnt need to be that extreme, just bring that the old philosophy. Start from scratch.

Panarin, Zib, Buch
LAF, Chytil, Kakko
Kreider, Strome, (whoever)
PDG, Howden, (whoever)

Make a true top line and get them going.
Attach the kids at the hip and tell them to become best of friends.

This is pretty much what many of us were hoping for weeks ago.
And, IMO, 3rd line is not (frank)ing Strome and Kreider. It’s giving them a huge opportunity to succeed!
Problem is, I think we are without Chytil for close to a month.
He was cradling his left arm before he even hit the ice. I think it’s his wrist.

the reality is that it wouldnt be the worst thing in the world

this division is brutal, it was always gonna be really hard for this team to finish in the top 4 anyway in this ridiculous season

if we were in the other division it would be a different story

I feel like Lafreniere is really really close to breaking through

everybody on this team is looking to make the perfect play and its wearing off on him too

Looks like Michigan Centers Johnson and Beniers are the top 2 Centers in the draft, our biggest hole, Powers too good to pass up at #1

I just wish I saw more elite skill from him, haven't noticed it at all through 5 games. Maybe he is nervous, gripping the stick too tight or something or worrying about passing the puck. Just haven't seen that it factor yet that I thought he would jump into the team with

He also has been essentially mistake free, never noticeable in a bad way.

What is the "it" factor that everyone seems to think that he is missing? For a 19yo, playing on the top line for an NHL team, I have loved what I've seen from him and truly don't understand the "don't see elite" in him narrative. He's had chances in just about every game. If those chances are goals, we're talking about how we finally have a real Calder candidate.

That is true, haven't noticed anything bad yet.

Maybe my expectations were too high, just thought we would see things that made us go wow from him. Just haven't seen it yet

I think we're seeing a truly disciplined and mature player that is not willing to get burned or make mistakes for the sake of getting points. Trust me I'd almost prefer him to just go for the points sometimes but he certainly doesn't play like most 19 year old players. I think he is going to break through with a multipoint game as his first points in the league.

The last 3 games they were the better team. You can see how good they’ll be down the road during every game. It’s kind of like this, every mistake is going in and every play we make is a wiff or a dumb pass when they should’ve shot. All forwards have been guilty of that

Impressed by Miller. Fox is going to win a Norris someday, he is amazing. Kakko and Chytil look a lot better (hopefully Chytil is ok)

Shesty hasn’t been good at all. And the vets haven’t been very good, especially Kreider and Zib. All in all you try to be patient but as we know that’s not easy haha

Laf will come around. It’s hard to enter the NHL with playoff like games basically already, w/o a camp or preseason games. It’s kind of like Kakko, he needs to get bigger and stronger with the puck to utilize his skills

I just feel when this all comes together they will be dynamite

these two games vs Buffalo really kind of are the season already, if they dont win them, 1-5-1 is gonna be pretty impossible to come back from

I just noticed we are actually already tied for last in the NHL.

The two teams Dallas and Florida that have only played 2 games each already have more points than us lol

Yea if they can't beat the Sabres this week its going to get dark fast
