Well, I guess they can't win every game. And I didn't think they deserved to win this one. I'm still not sure if all the credit is supposed to go to Brent Burns for that go ahead goal or if I should be angry as hell to watch him skate by ALL 5 DEFENDERS right to the net. It was a helluva play by Burns, but it looks to me that everyone just backed away from him, except Bonino, who was on his knees. I've been trying to install the idea in my 7yr old nephew this winter that the #1 thing to do in hockey is stay on your feet. He tends to lunge at skaters with the puck trying to knock it away. Going to show him that Burns goal to show him what happens when you are off your skates.

Suppose SJ is tickled pick that they have already gotten 2 goals from Donato. Now he will stop scoring for a dozen or so games. But of course he had to get one against the Wild. Yeah, it was a fluke goal, but a goal none the less.

Still can't say enough about Kaprizov. That move to (and stretch) to get the puck on his stick and then to pass to Parise wa a thing of beauty. Just waiting for him to get even more comfortable on the NHL rinks. It should be fun! And talking about things of beauty, that reach back tip in by Bjugstad was nice as well. Let's hope that he is rediscovering his scoring touch. It's also nice to see Fiala getting back into the groove. I was going to post that he needs to just score an empty netter (which he did) to get him on track. Now I wish I would have said that.

As for the team defense, does anyone else think that the Wild appear to be backing away a tad too far when defending? Just looks that way to me.

Honestly can't put my finger on it Gus... Because in almost every game they have been able to possess the puck a lot, and they've also had many quick break opportunities... is that because the D are doing their job while at the same time jumping up in the offense to help, or have they just been getting lucky against opponents that really aren't' any better than the Wild?

That aside, good for Burns, but this whole idea that Burns is some elite D man is a misconception IMO, Burns has some offensive upside but his defense is a lot of hack and slash BS that he gets away with quite often...

And i have to say, I have NEVER been a fan of Thomas Hertl... Guy is first class doosh and how he got away scott free with attacking Greenway while Greenway ends up taking a penalty and he gets nothing i've yet to figure out... effing poopty as ever reffing in the NHL....
