Carol Schram: Can Holtby, Miller light a spark that ignites the Canucks' stalled engine? The Vancouver Canucks are hoping that a tense moment between Braden Holtby and J.T. Miller on Saturday night can help ignite their team and finish off a 1-4 road trip on a winning note in Toronto on Monday.

Thx Carol!!

Good to see Holtby back in put up or shut up lol

Looking for huge efforts from Miller, Bo, Petey, Hughes, Boeser need to rely on your stars to win. Schmidt too.

Debrusk might be a good fit here.

Was kind of hoping for Virtanen for Bennett straight up but probably not to be lol

I think Debrusk is much better than Bennett. If they can do JV for Debrusk, I think you have to try that.

Thanks Carol!

Benn breaks Simseys wrist with his chin! Now that’s tough.

Boys have some serious pride on the line. 4-1 Canucks, Holtby shuts up the haters, and PP 2 shines with two tallies.

For those of you who spend time combing Capfriendly, and the NHL transaction wire, are the Canucks doing cap gymnastics? Are they taking advantage of moving players to the taxi squad/minors on off days etc to try and claw back as much space as possible?

Carol I heard it was Juolevi called up Loui sent back down. Have not heard Bailey's name on the transaction wire today.

Really not sure how we fix the D....its more team D than the D-men I think....its more effort / discipline IMO in the d-side of the game

Miller on Saturday exchange with Holtby: "A lot of that goal happens because I'm not moving my feet. There's nothing wrong with holding your teammates accountable and that happens a lot. We're moving past it. We just need to take our game to another level." #Canucks

I've seen Holtby do this a few times over the years and it always annoys the crud out of me (I wish I could curse like an adult on this site)

He should take a look at how Fleury handles situations like that. From everything I've read, he's a beloved teammate.

Not daily transactions . Usually every three days or so . Like today Juolevi up Loui down. It is not being done for cap space it is being done to get a taxi squad player into the line up.

If they needed cap space they could do what Boston is doing and go to a 20 man roster.

The trick for teams that may want to use LTIR space, is to stay as close to the upper cap limit, to potentially use LTIR to it's fullest. which is what they have been doing. When you check capfriendly, check the ACSL(in blue) right above LTIR summary, if it is close to 81.5 million, then they are doing the cap juggling properly.

"Am I the only one who still thinks about Cam Neely when the idea of trading a young, B.C.-born right winger to the Bruins is raised?"

I hope so. Virtanen is a blackhole where plays go to die.

Dump and chase (yet never actually regains possession) and weak ass perimeter shots on the rush. Never actually drives the net or does anything of relevance with his size and speed.

Reminds of a 50 pound heavier version of Mason Raymond with less nutz, skill and determination. Edit: And I am in no way trying to compliment Raymond...
