That's a shame - I actually think he would be a hell of a defensemen on a team that attacks. He would be a great fit out west.

There's been a lot of research done on Montour's style of play and his metrics, and what has shown is while he's excellent with outlet passing, moving the puck up the ice, and controlled offensive zone entries, he's borderline inept after entering the offensive zone as the play most often dies on his stick.

When do we start the Reinhart for Captain chant?

I mean, the kid IS Buffalo. He goes hard to the front of the net, does his job each and every night, slaps pucks out of mid air, makes breathtaking passes to poop players on his team that can't cash...

AND he pisses Boss34 off badly.

Give him the C already. Kids' earned it, the A isn't enough. This is the Samson Sabres now.

I've seen that as well - you never really see him carry it in but he is very good at jumping up to create an odd-man rush. Unfortunately another remnant of Housley's failure and the promise of attacking D.

If the kid keeps scoring a goal a game on the PP, I think you're right.

PP specialist or not, that shot last night was a thing of beauty.

My two favorite attributes are his toughness and the fact that nothing was ever handed to him. Boss has noted that many times but I think it flies under the radar a bit

Bryson's first shift yesterday where he jumped up into the play and hit the post showed what you would love to see from Montour, but what he doesn't have in him to do.

Montour is very willing to carry the puck in, but he has little idea what to do with it from that point.

Agreed, he's earned it and takes a beating every game.

I just poke Boss from time to time, he's been on good behavior though, you're right.

I think he's adapting to the North American game/ice, I've always liked him, me and my brother were hoping we would get him for our respective teams when he was drafted (my brother is leafs fan. My whole family for that matter except me and my late grandpa<3)

If I had to pick a 3rd favorite attribute, it's that Sam plays almost identically to Pominville but he's more likeable because he has a better personality
