This franchise is cursed.

No it's not...it gets EXACTLY what its deserves... Run by a bunch of morons. Coach dip poop has no freaking clue....
Tage....over Skinner... Give me a freaking break. The stupidity that we have seen from this coaching staff is just unreal.

It's bad when your longing for the days of Phil as head coach...

Looks like they may move on from Tkachuk..........

He lost the respect of the of the players.

I saw an article about the flames souring on Tkachuk as well, but couldn't find it again when I went back to look for it to post here.

Just my observations. Without Jack in the lineup there was a difference in the defensive ability of the team; however, that may simply have been a defense riddled with injuries finally being exposed. The first Line seemed to play better without Jack and the Hall Cozens, Stall line generated chances while giving them up continually. The PowerPlay converted without Jack, but the three-on-three game was missing him.

If Linus doesn't get hurt I suspect we win the game.

I'd rather see Jack stay out two to four weeks - or whatever it takes to get 100% healthy - because the team is not so noticeably worse without him (except in overtime) at whatever percentage he was playing before yesterday that they can't maintain their 30th place pace.

In re: Jack injury

1. We have been told Jack had a shoulder that kept him out 1 week of camp.
2. Jack was healthy, according to the Sabres, all season up until the pregame skate
3. He has a lower body now, not connected to the shoulder from camp.

Is Jack not being forthcoming w/the team as to his health? Is the team this inept? Both?

Funny how the Hockey World see's what's going on with the Sabres and Skinner but Ralph can't see it hanging from his nose.

He did have a shoulder pre camp and it was probably “healthy enough”. And they thought he’d work through it.

The lower body has to be the ankle from the last game he played. That looked painful. And maybe he thought skipping the morning skate he’d be good to go. And it just wasn’t.

I think jack is forthcoming
I think the team in inept.
I think Ralph likes to play old school coaching games. “Oh, no body is hurt”... “uh coach his leg is 90% severed and just hanging there”... “it’s a merely a scratch, lower body injury, he’s day to day”.

Also see what happened to Borgen, was day to day, before tests said surgery. Ralph just went for the day to day... all is well

It's a real shame watching this team flounder away again. On paper there's a lot of talent, but has not come together as a team. Thought bringing in a few older vets would help in the locker room, especially with the young guys. It is obvious that coaching has been a obstacle, but something else is going on too, and I hate to point a finger but I think it starts with the C.

I know Ill get butchered for this, and the last thing I am is a homer but, there is some good.

1. We have an answer on both goalies. Huttons horrible, find an option. Ullmark can actually be a #1. Hes shown it. He's not a top 5 goalie in the league but he absolutely is capable of playing #1 on a winning / playoff team.

2. Dahlin is starting to look every bit as advertised. Hes never going to be Larry Robinson, but hes quarterbacking the #1 power play in the league and you can see his confidence building. How many fights did Lidstrom have?

3. Ive always been pro Reinhart. The guy has developed into a lock first liner. I always felt that his biggest barrier was growing into a mans body, now that it has happened, hes a VERY good player.

4. "when you stop getting chances, its time to worry". Hall will be fine. Look at that pass to 23 last night.

5. Cozens is a legit NHL player and 37 isnt finished just yet.

Its coming.

Know we wait to see how bad Ullmark is hurt, or we might be seeing a lot more of 1 eye. Agree Cozens has brought a lot of energy to this team.

The problem now is Ralph has a built in excuse with the injuries. So we won’t get a new coach because of man games lost. And they do seem to play a little looser without jack in the lineup. It’s odd....

Good post. I like cozens a lot. Fat Larry may change my mind yet. But Too Tall Larry needs to go. Hall was shot out of a cannon period one! Then he let wood get to him... and you forgot Bryson and a lil Asplund. Both didn’t look outta place.

Now if we only had a real coach.

It is weird how they play differently, it's like they play loose, but know they have to play harder. I don't know why that can't play that way when Jack is on the ice.

They weren't afraid to fire the others after two years - I don't see why they would be afraid to do it with him, especially when you consider how he has handled Skinner.

Because they are not going to pay another coach to not work for them.
They are begin very cheap currently and have already stated they wont add any dead money to their cap and this also holds true to staff and FO.

I think they are trying to get out from under the Skinner contract. So they don't have to pay him.

I'll still believe that he comes back when I see it. If the franchise feels dead like it did with the others I think they would pull the trigger despite what they say now.
