Ok. I’m not comparing but when you say things like he was really good in the first it’s not a statement I take as a positive. Thompson, Okposo and many other sh!t on players have had good one period performances. Live by your own beliefs and don’t defend someone for underachieving especially an MVP who played some good shifts at best.
I’m sure Ralph didn’t tell Hall to use the samePeeWee move on all his breakaways.

Hall did play well in the 1st last night
He was all over the place

Everyone is underachieving at 5v5
Singling out Hall makes no sense

Weren’t there some shenanigans in the Crosby draft as well?!?

I sometimes wonder how many more lockouts, terrible tv deals and things like this have to happen before Gary bettman gets the can. the guy is like nails on a chalkboard.

There is enough blame to go around and you’re right putting a loss on one guy doesn’t make sense in a team game. I’m glad you pointed that out. He did have one good period I do agree.

I got nothing.

Anyone on here have secondary teams you watch or (secretly) pull for? Asking for a friend...

Living in Ottawa, the Sens. Fast young exciting team. Owner, well, he’s been quiet and hopefully stays that way. Stutzle is gonna be a star.

Samson for Tachuk (spelling). I’d do that! And I like Sam. I just like the type of game tachuks play. This team doesn’t have the ballls to do it.

Sure, but they’re risking we sign him before he even gets to UFA
Or we trade him to someone else who signs him
I’m sure he’ll have plenty of offers too

Nope
But an extension for Stone was pretty much worked out when he was traded to Vegas
Vegas wasn’t giving all that up to see him walk

If Hall did re-sign with us,
I’d assume he’d get a NMC in the deal

I know UFAs control quite a bit in the negotiation process, but at a) the age the become UFAs, coupled with b) the long length of contract term for most; makes me want very little to do with the FA market for high-end guys.

Hall is a case in point, just like Skinner was. I'd be comfortable paying a decent amount for a shorter 4 or 5 year term, and certainly would not extend full NMC's.

4 x $8 w/ modified-NTC as 10 Team no trade List would be the preferred target. Begin negotiations before TDL, if they are stuck on more, then Sabres have to trade him. Why Adams agreed to a full NMC on a 1 yr deal is assine, or inexperienced thinking...it saves Hall what 2 months or so of living elsewhere and screws the Sabres completely.

I fear they are going down the same path as with Skinner.
So glad we get to see Hall at his worst so it's no surprise.

Cozens was centering Hall and Reinhart at practice with Staal between Skinner and Olofsson.

Hahahaha just kidding, Lazar is 1C of course and Skinner is on the third line

The fan boy was enthralled with Lindy and that longest tenured duo because of the past success. The business man, should have hired an outside consultant just to get another set of eyes on what was happening.

And then the fan boy hires a past player who held a president title for exactly 6 weeks and abruptly quit. They allow him to hire a gm, heads are promptly butted, peepees are promptly whacked.... the president quits and tmgm smokes, drinks and tanks his way to Jack. Because putting all the eggs in lotto balls made sense at the time. And didn’t the nhl change the percentage of those balls that year?!?

And now we rinse and repeat with the same unproven, unsuccessful crap in upper management and it just filters down.

I do politely disagree, this is 100% pegs fault for leaning so hard into his fandom and not letting any rash business acumen in.

- Gr8daygo

I like this, disagree respectfully, but I understand your thinking.

Probably should have gotten outside eyes, but he had his own cronies helping - ted black in particular.

Lala could go either way. He did the same thing with the islanders, and that was pegula's only " ugly divorce ".

One guy thought he was waving to fans , the other thought he was actually involved with trades.

The tank really f'ed the Sabres. That's on pegs...

I hear ya
And we could possibly get away with that if we were a better team (like say Tampa)
But we are still in the position where we’ve gotta offer big $$$ and long term if we want any chance to sign guys like Hall & Skinner

Should have let Darcy be the tank commander. Unfortunately the pressure from the fans to fire him after 15 years was very loud. In retrospect, Darcy was the right choice for the job

Maybe we can get Keith come out of retirement, too.

(frank) it, while we're at it, let's get old Walt Tkaczuk (no relation, but hey, might as well get em all) to pull the old wooden Koho out of moth balls and see what he's got left in the...tank.
