That's a really good question.

Getting paid is always important - Sabres pay
Having respectable bosses in the pegulas
Good young players

What's your thought:
Eichel or Ralph's system? What's holding us back ?

- Boss34

The core of this team has barely shifted over the last 3 coaches, yet people still hammer on the coaching. Soft players playing soft isn't at all surprising. It's the norm here.

I have serious doubts that the Pegulas and GMKA are strength in any coaches eyes. I'd love to hear from KA what their plan is for all these expiring deals. They need substantial change and that's a hell of a needle to thread. We literally don't have an NHL goalie under contract next year, and there's much bigger issues to deal with.

Wow, Eichel didn't score again tonight. Clearly he's pretending to be hurt to get out of town.

You bring up some good points.

I can't stand the habitual softness.
Just when you think they can't get softer, they get softer.

Still, coaches have an inner part that makes them feel they can bring out the best in players.

Dahlin and eichel that's a good formula- on paper.

1C
1D

Although I feel like dahlin is looking really shaky as 1D.

Good thing we have Risto 😉

Looking at the top 6/top 4:

Hall, Staal, Montour, and McCabe are UFA. Risto and Sam are entering their final year. Those guys log a lot of minutes.

Have faith in GMKA to get all those decisions right, without any big overpays or squandering assets? If we can see this, so can anyone considering the job.

It's a bit more than that, but that's the way it works with a late round college pick.

The trouble with the Buffalo Sabres’ sudden inability to score has more to do with players’ heads than hands, as far as coach Ralph Krueger is concerned.

“One of my biggest takes out of that game yesterday was the fragile psychological state of the team right now,” Krueger bluntly said Friday, a day after a 3-1 loss at Washington.

“They’re fragile right now. They don’t believe in themselves and they don’t see themselves celebrating.” he added. “They see themselves missing the net, hitting the shaft of the goalie, not finding the hole between the legs that they usually find.”

Krueger spent a brief practice having players focus on puck-handling to work on their timing, while also preaching positive messages during numerous one-on-one conversations.

Why Sorry, maybe we can hire Tonya Harding and she could take out Ralph with Rhino's purse, and see what Smith could do with this group or Appert, can't be any worse.
