it's a hot mess and fingers are being pointed in every direction

I mean the coach literally said yesterday they finally had time to use face off wins as a weapon and plan around it the other day

your head coach waits for 6 weeks to figure out how to use face off wins to help plan an attack

you can't make this stuff up

Not good, it might help if Ralph got out of the 70's. The first 2 periods yesterday should be studied hard by Ralph

Same shat Friedman spewed the other day. Is he getting restless again homie, because he needs to look in the mirror, he's part of the problem right know.

I believe he is playing hurt myself. He has supported Krueger, and before the Covid outbreak was on record saying he believed the team was heading in the right direction. His game changed last year, especially with him taking more shots in the high Danger areas...and it worked after spending the last offseason on improving it.
This season, he isn't taking nearly as many shots, and early on was hell bent to give the puck to Hall rather than taking those shots.
We'll find out later he is playing through an injury...kinda like Foligno tried to do so for a season and his game was marginalized in a big way.

He definitely isn't shooting, maybe he does have a shoulder situation. I mean I know from personal experience how much having a bad shoulder can affect things and shooting a puck would be high on the list.

Well, of course, everyone in hockey circles are going to have an opinion on it now.

The other thought is, why is Hall considering extending here, if the Sabres are going to possibly listen to offers for Eichel? That makes zero sense.

- Powerslave

Great post. Very logical.

If I may add, a question I have is why would the Sabres want to extend Hall at an assumed $8m per based on production to date.
If they are thinking it is $6.5m then fine, more is a mistake at thus rate.

I don't agree with it either, but Vancouver and Ottawa are pretty abysmal at the hockey this year.
The argument that could hold water is if other Canadian teams and players have played an unbalanced schedule so far with a higher number of games against those two teams, then a case can be made that those records are padded based on inferior competition.

Montreal, Toronto, Edmonton seem to be playing decently though.

- IonSabres

You guys might not like to admit it because we're Sabres fans, but Toronto is an absolute powerhouse team this year. Edmonton is an offensively dominant team, and Montreal always seems to be a good team at their worst.

Vancouver and Ottawa look worse than they are because they're playing them, not because they're both that bad. Winnipeg and Calgary are also pretty good teams. I just don't see what's different about their division than any other one division this year.

Oh stop it with this "Jack is playing injured" crap, seriously. If anyone here has played hockey as they keep ramming on about, then you know most of the time you're playing hurt, or something is sore, or you have a deep bruise, or a pinched nerve, come on seriously.

It's not an excuse. If you can play the game, you're 100%, that's it. Being injured or sick or banged up... If you are in the lineup on game day, you are 100% good to go, or you shouldn't be playing.

I agree with you here.
About a week ago I posted that the Sabres are fvcked going forward when the normal alignment happens next season, in large part because Toronto and Montreal have taken a larger step forward, along with Florida which combined means the Atlantic will be very challenging with Tampa and Boston added in.
Those 5 teams are fighting for 3 PO spots in the East and 1 WC position with more competition from the Metro in it.

Kevyn Krueger better get their Offseason Plan together in high gear

You have to watch McDavid on slomo to fully appreciate the ridiculous talent he has.
When he comes in on his own, hands and feet going a million miles per hour, everyone is lost around him. The goalie, the defenders, his own team mates. I think he purposely slows the game down at times just so his team mates feel involved

Yes to playing hurt
No if playing injured.
There is a difference...and we saw it with Foligno and Josh Anderson on how debilitating it can be.

Just stop.

We keep targeting the wrong guys. Skinner, career loser, Hall, career loser, Staal, completely washed up, Miller, expansion team didn’t want him. We seem to take everyone’s garbage and treat it like gold

His Wife is pushing for Chicago, she plays professional Soccer there. Happy wife makes for Happy life. But if QB and winning a SB are truly on his list, he isn't signing there. Be patient, the Bill's have a offer on the table, but it's all on Watts.

When we score goals, that really exemplifies what we are trying to accomplish, oh and win face offs. Yes, that too. That is all my plan.

Then why the hell aren't they playing that way Ralph?

It was noticeable as hell, especially when Dahlin moved up and carried the puck into the crease for a toe-drag shot that was stopped.
Almost like the boys gave Ralph the middle finger to his Ultra conservative, everybody below the puck mentality.

This team has the talent to win and compete, but are being held back too much.
