He hasn't played a single game on the top line. Hes played a couple minutes in some games when were already down by 2 or 3 because we need a goal.

Most players can't go out there and do everything alone you need to build off your line mates and when you don't have the proper line mates to build off you don't get the results you hope for.

Yes he did, I believe it when rhino was hurt, there were two games he started on Eichels line. Lots of good players don’t need to be propped up by elite players to produce, I understand that playing with Jack would be better for him but I think giving him a total pass and saying it’s all on the coach is not a fair assessment.

he started one game on the top line: 53/9/68... they lost 3-1 to the isles first game back from their covid problems...

it's the game where skinner drew two players to the half-wall, fed jack with a nifty pass (he was also being covered by two defenders) who in-turn fed olofsson in the left slot area...the puck went off of olofsson's stick, grazed the goalie's pad and glanced out off of the post...

a real nice play that was inches away from being a goal

He has not played a full game on line 1 or 2. Name me 1 40 goal scorer that was banished to the 4th line and still succeed.

According to Natural StatTrick,
-Skinner has played ~30 minutes with each of Jack and Staal, while playing ~93 minutes with each of Lazar and Sheahan
-the time with Lazar and Sheahan have produced 15 HDCF, while 6 were with Staal, and 3 with Jack.
- Skins has played only ~9 minutes with Eakin, but had 3 HDCF

Maybe Jack is dragging Skinner down from quality chances...and Eakin should be his linemate far more frequently ... if these trends were linear, he would have 9 HDCF with Eakin playing the same minutes he has with Jack already...and 30 HDCF compared to the time he spent with Lazar.

Interesting stats anyway

He works well with Jack, but he also hasn’t produced any sort of offence that shown up on the scoreboard.
I just don’t buy the narrative that Ralph hates him and just parks him on the fourth line, there has to be something more to it.
If it is all Kruger then I agree give the guy a shot for more than 15 mins in one game,if Kruger is actually totally inept then I’ll gladly eat my words.
Just doesn’t seem to mesh, Eichel absolutely took off last season under Ralph, he can’t be that bad can he?

Then go and do something about it, if skinner is a talented forward he shouldn’t have to play with Jack to have success.
There have been games where skinner has played on the top line and done a grand total of nothing.
Artem zub playing his first year in the nhl on the bottom pairing on the Ottawa Senators has more goals than skinner.

- Sabres1523

Has Skinner played an entire game on the top line? I dont think he has. What's the end game here? If you want the best out of Skinner, play him with Eichel 18 minutes a night on the top line.

If the goal is to just poop on him, sure keep playing him 13 minutes a night with Lazar and Sheahan and the Ralph looks right

And look what the coach has done this year? He has not made one decision that has helped this team win. Every decision he has made so far has hurt this team. Skinner, Okposo, Tage, Line combinations, starting Hutton first game of the year. He is inept when it comes to hockey thats why he lasted a shortened season in Edmonton

Brooks thinks any Eichel trade to NYR starts with Lafreniere. And he questions whether the New York brass has the stomach to make that deal.

Jury is still out, but it isn't leaning towards Ralph's favor this season when the following players are all playing below their career averages...especially 5v5
Eichel
Skinner
Staal
Sam
Olo
Dahlin (although playing better recently)

Is that a coincidence? Maybe it is, but science would say not.
Gotta listen to the science.

I am not trying to just crap on skinner just a thought that perhaps there are issues with him that extend beyond the coach.
I don’t care who looks right or good I simply want the team to win, if that means putting skinner with Jack regardless and getting rid of Kruger, then do it I have no issues, just want to see the team do well.

My issue is his usage

He is getting almost zero o-zone starts

You don't use an offensive winger like that

It makes no sense

Fair points for sure it just seems odd that everyone has regressed, especially Jack when it looked like some might be turning the corner last season.
