Lots of talk that Nashville is going to be moving Ekholm. This year and next left at $3.75M, which is beyond a bargain for what he brings. LeBrun doesn't have us in the mix for him (he mentioned Philly/Boston/Washington/Winnipeg as being in the mix) but man would that be a hell of a fit. He'd upgrade that 2nd pairing big time.

Always been a fan of mayfield even with the knocks to his game but this season has not been good for him so far. He looks lost out there and opposing team’s coaches are exploiting it.

Like I said sign me up. You can throw anyone else in there not named Pulock, Dobson, Pelech, Barzal and I’m on board... Eichel is a pretty damn good player. Seems a bit pouty and female dogy but love to have him none the less. I think he’s gone within the next year. Buffalo is an absolute, never ending, tire fire. It has gone from funny, so bad it’s not funny, to so bad it is funny, to down right hysterical at this point.

He's apparently requested a trade. The market is so cash strapped, I think the return would be startlingly low for a player of his ability but we shall see.

Plus Brock has a full NTC and I imagine he's not really dying to live/play in Buffalo

He's been pretty awful this year for sure. Finding a way to add Ekholm would be such a massive boost to the blueline. The Athletic article I read pegged his value (based off talking to some execs/agents around the league) at around what Muzzin and Martinez were worth. Muzzin was a 1st and two mid-to-lower-level prospects and Martinez was worth two 2nd's.

I think the Isles could put together a reasonably-competitive package but a) the money would be a big hurdle, even though his contract is a steal, and b) there's going to be a lot of competition for him and that's only going to drive the price up

Buffalo is against the cap as much as we are. If we're going to make a move, I would hope it would be for a scoring forward, but I think the cash will keep us from making any trades frankly
