0-6 on PP. All you have to do is get him the puck. It's not rocket science. They failed to do that.
- gravyface

How many shots have they had? Holy (frank) they haven't had a decent pp chance all night.

(frank)ing horrendous

Leafs missing a few players, and their starter and backup.

Top players weren’t crisp and hit a bunch of posts.

Not the worst game they’ve played but frustrating to see them look a bit lifeless tonight. Took a night off when they have a decent lead in the standings.

He wasnt doing anything all night.
You use one guy on the pp all the time, opposing teams will eventually shut him down.
Just wasnt our night
Not the end of the world

Edit: i think they were 0-7

No movement - six guys standing.

Grotesquely like last year's PP. Can't get Simmonds and Thornton back on there fast enough.

Barbarian just passes it over to the Flame under pressure. Do we still have Laich or Clune? They would be better

BAHAHAHAHA Bennett!

Wait maybe it was intentional and he wants to play in Toronto and will endure himself to his new teammates by telling them all so.

😆

- Cush29

I think we'll keep Kerfoot.

For you frankers looking to make excuses for Matthews - don’t act like this was his first game this year without a point.

IT WAS HIS SECOND!

Yeah but... let's (frank)ing get to the point where Matthews shot is predictably stopped first, not when the guy has the hottest (frank)ing stick in the NHL and you're not even trying.

Get
Matthews
The
(frank)ing
Puck
On
The
PP

I can't believe you're arguing with me. Actually I can. It's kind of your schtick.

I blame Keefe for this loss.

The Tavares - Matthews - Marner line was a bad idea, disrupting the entire lineup.

- Atomic Wedgie

I blame Keefe as well. It was a good idea in theory . . . .he's trying to get Tavares going, but now he's just contaminating the rest of the team!

Seriously, put Boyd there. Last game the power play was lethal with Marner - Matthews - Boyd - Thornton and Rielly. Thornton is hurt, so you replace him with Tavares if you want (I'd still go with Spezza in that case) and leave JT and Nylander on the second unit. The PP had too many cooks in the kitchen.

And Barabanov has now shown you his arsenal: he has no ammo, and forgot his gun at home. Why does that guy get on the second line?

I mean, I thought Nylander looked decent for a lot of the game, and worked hard, but there was just no chemistry going on anywhere. Rielly couldn't complete a pass; Marner struggled to complete a pass; they rarely won a critical faceoff.

All that, and they outplayed the Flames.

I actually like Barabanov more than Vesey.

But I prefer a lineup without either.

Great, now he has to score 2 goals next game just to stay on pace for a goal a game.

No one should be shooting on that PP other than Matthews or Marner if he has a clear shot from in close.

It wasn't their game, but get Matthews the (frank)ing puck. Its was annoying watching other players take shots when Matthews was available.

Guess they were trying to mix it up.
Dunno.
Didnt work, back to pass to Matthews.

But its not as if he was wide open on every pp.

If no ones back next game, then id do something like this.. (frank) it.

Kerfoot Matthews Marner
Nylander Tavares Boyd
Mikheyev Spezza Engvall
Sabourin Petan Galchenyuk (5 mins)

Rielly Bogo
Dermott Brodie
Sandin Holl

Woll
Hutch

make the PP units: Mitch, Auston, Kerfoot, Reilly, Holl - Nylander Tavares, Boyd, Spezza, Sandin.

Give the top players the day off tomorrow.
