Yup, no big deal at all. I hear JT and Willie had another bad game. Just what I hear.

I liked nylanders game for the most part. Played hard, he such a great passer. Seems like every pass he makes it’s on the tape for the guy.

Agreed, thought Nylander was one of the better Leafs last night.

Leafs just didn't hit the spots last night. JT, missed a tap in. A few break aways, Calgary tender was good.

Looking at the highlights and talking to others at work that watched the game. Just missed their chances. I guess the reffing was OMG..

- bixll

He made the tap in, some how out of the heavens Rittich reached back with paddle and scooped it off the line, I knew we were doomed.

Not a big fan of Willie but Keefe gave him ample opportunity last night. Nice to see the benching from 1 game doesn’t lead to the next...even though maybe it should have.

Ya, lots of little calls...both ways but it really disrupted the flow.

No more of this PP unit, ever again:

Matthews
Marner
Nylander
Tavares
Rielly

It was certainly terrible last night, and not very good for most of last season.

- fifty__missions

Good time to try it. I like that Keefe is trying to get Nylander and JT going. They score a couple and it will shut up the Simmonds types for a few minutes.

You're not allowed to say that Willie is one of the best passers and skaters in the league. It just gives away that you've never played and haven't got a clue

He didn't say he was one of the best passers and skaters in the league. Read his post again.

I saw enough of it last year. Last night reconfirmed how static and wooden that particular unit always seem.

So much.
We've seen the benefits what players with skill and grit can bring to the team....and we are now missing it.

But I still dont think it would have solved for Rittich last night.....he was great.
Absolutely robbed JT. Great save.

The "soft goal" was a deflection....it happens to the best of goalies and probably a lot for hutch lol.
The leafs ran into a hot goalie on the other side and they were not getting any "puck luck". Just wasnt their night.
No biggie.

- Fakepartofme

On the first goal? Look at how open the 5 hole is when the shot is in the way. If he’s in a decent position that puck doesn’t dribble through. deflection or not.

He may have scored a goal by going to the net, but no thank you. Watching him against the Oilers and the Leafs, he's a BS player with surprisingly limited talent for the expectations placed on him. He's overrated because of his 4th overall pedigree, but there isn't much in his game that I loved. He's an average skater, he's above average in physicality but it's not productive or bullish - it's just hits. His on-ice vision and shot are not top-6 worthy.

What I saw from him were two plays that could easily have gotten him in the soup: His bull crap hit on Koekkoek of the Oilers on Saturday, and his bull crap elbow to Vesey's face last night.

If he was on the Leafs, he'd make the suspensions doled out to Kadri look laughable.

He’s easily stopping that puck, tough to stop tips and even tougher when it’s your own teammate. I don’t think it cost us....so mute point anyways unless you wanna argue about it for a few hours. 🤣🤣

I’m going back to bed. 🤓

Leafs starting their 4th string goalie

Just when you though they built up a good cushion of Goalies...Andersen > Campbell > Dell .....boom Hutch is back

- senstroll

Yeah, Andersen probably would have had two goals and two assists, and the boys would have won 4-3.
