I took the rents up to Moraine Lk at Lk Louise last year, and you have to take a bus up now because theres too many people to drive. If you go down some of the backroads in AB along the moutains, sometimes you wont see another car all day, just tons of wildlife, and unspoiled views.

I was supposed to take my kids to the Leafs game on that fateful Thursday night. IIRC, it got cancelled mid-afternoon. I ended up staying late at the office, and then went to my local to grab something to eat.

I sat quietly sipping a beer, scrolling through my phone (and watching on the TVs) as the world shut down.

We were supposed to have a hockey tournament starting on the Friday. Just scrolling through my text messages - at about 9:30 pm, the OWHA cancelled all hockey until further notice.

On March 8, 2020 I was at a convention, in a crowded hall with 100s probably thousands of people throughout the day.

4 days later I was told I was working from home until further notice....

Been over 40. My younger brother and got to stay at the Lodge on the mountain. Day we arrived (got there in the afternoon) we both did a hit of acid getting on the chair by the lodge. It was our first time there and we just came taking chairs up the mountain. By the time we got to the peak (is it Brewster that crosses the continental divide) the fog rolled in. We couldn’t see our skis by the time we started down.

It was so weird because whenever we’d stop, we’d be aware of the pitch of the hill and fall over. After that first section, there’s this big bowl to the left where it all funnels down but with inclines up on either side. Again, weirdness because we couldn’t see and we’d find ourselves going slower because we were skiing uphill.

It was such a great week. I only ever got back there 4 more times. So great.

Leaving work early to go boarding on a small ski hill. Its boring...but dammit Im going to enjoy it....gotta pull something out of this lock down.
Hopefully going to Moonstone on Friday, another small hill but whatever, its all I have.

Banff ruined me.

Nothing like Banff in the summertime tho. I usually only go when entertaining guests, on my free time i prefer the recreation lands in AB, the fishing and camping is unreal.

My girlfriend and I just got back from skiing in Banff for 4 days. I went back to work on the Tuesday, worked from home for the week cause I was being lazy and didnt want to believe I could no longer see mountains.
Then Friday everything shuts down.

Had the house to myself until my wife started working from home then helped her fight when they tried to force her to go back when she didn’t think it was safe. Now she’s retired too.

Born too late. Paid $750 for the winter for 3 bedroom farmhouse half an hour from Tremblant. Skied Monday-Friday and drove into Ottawa every two weeks to pick up UI cheque, but groceries at Byward Market and have dinner with my parents. This was probably winter of ‘73-74
