So what you are saying his high end level is being a goon. With all the hype about him going into the draft he was supposed to be considered high end talent. I really wish Draisatl dropped down to 4th 🥵

Draft...
Christ how many times do we see high end talent in junior poop the bed in the pro's? Hell he was ranked #1 by Central Scouting. Bennett had all the upside coming into the NHL. His downfall was having initial success as a call up. Had he underwhelmed, he likely wouldn't be a conversation piece today, at least not in this way. He's a 3rd, 4th line plugger who found some grit. When the revolving door of coaches on this team figures that out and more importantly when HE (and his agent) figures it out, he'll be just that.

Devil's advocate, had Drai dropped and he's on the Flames, is he the player he is today. On that, had the Oil taken Bennett, is he better playing with McDavid?

Bennett needs to get scratched to send a message and punish him for not trying. Calgarypuck is out to lunch when it comes to this guy, I think the technical term is that they're "dense" because none of them have caught on and are still in denial when they say that "he needs more time" - but it was nice to see Bennett thrown on the taxi squad and benched a week ago or so, to me that acknowledges that Ward realizes what Bennett's doing and it's time to stop treating him like an entitled, princess 4th overall pick
Dube is over-rated, he might be a fast skater, because he's young, but his puck handling is awful
Mangiapane deserves to be on the top two lines
But after that, there's no skill in this lineup. We only have 1 decent RW for the top two lines in Mangiapane, and the bottom two lines we only have Backlund to show for.
Love the progression and effort out of Lucic, he's won me over, but if you move him, it's still addition by subtraction because the cap savings on him would let you go out and sign Hall.
I really hope Ryan is close to returning because he's our best shot at improving this line up, at this rate we could start talking about Pelletier getting his shot to make the team, and look to drafting high. It doesn't seem like this line-up has the answers, and Treliving's gamble of letting this team stick together and grow isn't paying off, odds are Gaudreau walks.

“People like you”

His work in the corners isn’t his problem. His stone hands and lack of hockey IQ are. His perception of his role on the team is. He’s one of the few players still digging in on the boards. That comparison to PLD’s last shift is just your sh!tty brain seeing two players demanding trades and then trying to shoehorn comparable factors into it.

Also, your name is fvcking retarded.

. Couldn't sum up Bennett much better than that. Chopping block hands and a lack of hockey IQ!

How do you suppose we move Lucic? Is that even a relevant point of discussion? No odds aren't that Gaudreau is going to walk, its a guarantee. The better option would be to move him this offseason with a year left on his contract, while we can get something in return.

You are right on Gaudreau he's good as gone after his contract. He wants to play out East. Before he signed his ELC there was a lot of speculation if he was just going to wait things out. Might as well get something in return, because this team won't be making the playoffs this year.

That was some lukewarm truth at best. I believe you think you are like Stone Cold but come across as Steve Urkel.

It’s taken Treliving 7 years to build this team. How much longer do you think it’s going to take?

I think Bennett is that player that was bigger stronger and faster than everyone in Jr. He scored goals and dominated because of his physical attributes.

He has poop for hockey IQ. He does not make bad players better. He makes good players worse. You look at his goals and he gets a lot of garbage in from of the net.

I want whomever is the problem in the room gone. If its JG then trade his ass and keep Bennett. The team that Hartley had at least tried to win.

I cannot get behind this team right now. Its very troublesome that 2 of the players that are supposed to be the heart and soul (Bennett and Tkachuk) have checked out.

I posted this on the last thread.

From C of Reddit but it sums up the problems with this organization very well.

Tre shat the bed on a couple free agent signings. But ownership is the problem.

Easy - Lucic + 1st to Ottawa/Detroit for a prospect. Use cap space to sign Hall + a quality 2/3rd liner. I can't believe Treliving didn't do that this summer, considering he chose to hold onto Gaudreau/Monahan and "go for it". He should have landed us someone from Chicago, considering they announced a rebuild, but Kane's MVP play is single handedly throwing a wrench in those plans.

Gaudreau will leave for the same reason Brodie left - real bad RFA contract. Gaudreau signed at $6.8 and other guys were signing for $8m back then. During the presser for the Brodie signing, Treliving was gloating on the media when he said they got Brodie "at a real good price". I could totally understand Gaudreau being angry about that - aside from all the lifestyle/family reasons that tie him to Philly/NJ.
