If it weren't for the cap/depth issues, I'd say Forsberg would be a sweet add. But this team needs a top 4 dman and a 3C before they need a top 6 winger.

Ekholm would make a bigger impact.

Same could be said for Q, coached a lot before having success in Chicago.

His teams made the playoffs every year except for two, and made it past round 1 six of 11 times. I’d say he had a decent amount of success before winning the cup in 2010.

I agree with you his zone play in his own end is brutal at times.

I believe he is a PP specialist and 4-5 million is pushing it. IMO
The kid during at least 2 interviews, when he was playing extremely bad defensively, as opposed to now where he is just bad defensively, tried claiming his defensive wasn't bad.
I got no use for players who don't own up to piss poor play.

Reporter: What did you like about what you saw in camp?

Benning: Well, I really like our defense. I like Nate Schmidt; I think he’s going to be a real good addition because he's another skill guy that can move the puck up quick to our forwards. Olli Juolevi had a good camp last summer (before the playoff tournament), and I thought he has continued that and looks ready to play. I like the depth of our defense.

I like the combination of the veteran players we have along with the young players, too. I'm pretty excited about our group. (Brogan) Rafferty, (Jack) Rathbone, (Jalen) Chatfield, Juolevi – we've been drafting and developing these kids on the back end and I think they're going to get games this year. That gives us depth. I like that part of our team.

Our goaltending, I think, is going to be good with bringing in Braden Holtby, an experienced guy that has played in the big moments before. So I like him. (Thatcher) Demko had a solid camp.

And then there’s our combination up front with youth and speed and that veteran presence. I like that.

Which is very similar to boudreau. He’s missed the playoffs twice im pretty sure. I’m just saying, you aren’t on that level until you win. As was with Trots and lots of good coaches over the years. Q is unreal, but he wasn’t considered one of the best until Chicago.

They might do alright in ECHL, but that is a men's league so they will probably struggle their as well.

There is probably a way around the rules.

The Victoria Admirals(U-13) are representing BC for the Good Deeds Cup. The charity they have chosen is one that helps keep sick kids closer to their families on the island.
Hopefully they get lots of votes from the hockeybuzz crowd.
