Did you watch the Rocket last night? I see that Hillis finally played, how did he look?
- obie

I sure did. talented small center. it's only one game, his first one, but still, I don't see him as an NHLer tbh.

An acceptable french guy who won the stanley cup and a jack adams..

Knowing the hiring constraints I was more than happy to bring in CJ for MT. But that doesn't mean the hiring constraints aren't real

yep, another nice assist last night. him I see making it.
players need to have a dominant quality. either speed, a great shot, a good vision and passing, skating, being physical....
Ylonen has many of these qualities. Hillis doesn't. imo.

He was always a long shot, just has the potential to surprise

Decent offensive upside... pretty sure he was top 10 in OHL scoring when the lockdown happened

À mon avis, il n'est pas assez explosif pour se trouver une niche permanente dans la LNH...

it's still very early, I only saw one game. but his cealing could be Jordan Weal (who also was top10 in junior)

yeah... but honestly he didn't look out of place one bit last night.
I would not like to be an opponent forward and go in the corner when him and Fleury are on the ice.

I don't think people would complain if we signed a Barry Trotz, but yeah every other coach there's probably a french guy who could do the same job.
- Fredobbface

Personally I think Gerard Gallant is the best coach available.

the most important thing he needs to learn is how to fire a puck into A) a series of bodies B) 17-feet wide of the net and C) right into the goalie's chest from distance.

This does seem to be prerequisite for being at the NHL level of the Habs organization

Good. Being harder to play against is something the Habs have only really paid lip service to for years

but but what about Mete's much-needed offensive skills..??

loll.. seriously though now if Kulak can go back to playing like he was during the playoffs last year that would be great

same could be said of many others on that team tbh
