I like Kulak. not sure why I feel alone in that camp. I think time will prove me right.

He's 27. Time is not on your side.

the most important thing he needs to learn is how to fire a puck into A) a series of bodies B) 17-feet wide of the net and C) right into the goalie's chest from distance.

He was playing with a garbage oilers team at the time wasn't he? Oh well, Kulak is less bad than Mete. I'd say Kulak is at least meh rather than vomit inducing awful.

turns out Hockey Pucker is Mete's agent, so this all makes sense now

Turns out CJ saw the same thing the majority of us did on Ottawa's first goal the other night, stats be damned

playing with a bad or good team doesn't change your basic qualities.
he skates well, has size, can support the offense (something I would want to see more often). like you said, he was pretty good in the bubble playing with Petry.
play the guy. they don't have other options anyway, beside Fleury. imo

I think he is decent for a 3rd pairing dman. I am more concerned with the play of the Weber-Chariot duo tbh. They are pretty bad so far.

Don't care about the Kulak vs Mete, that's not what is killing this team right now. They need their top 9 forwards to show up and generate offense....and score FFS.

Not sure what his problem is but Danault is a different player, not sure if it is the contract situation but he is a mess, he generates nothing, sucks on the PK in coverage, he is not the player we have seen the pat few years. Same with Tatar.

I'm starting to wonder how I ever saw Chiarot as a decent defensemen. Ignoring his terrible coverage, the amount of penalties he takes tanks the team.

agreed, although when the 3rd pairing costs you a goal then it also becomes a concern. I think CJ would like to shorten his bench but he's probably worried the guys will get tired too quickly with the compressed scheduling

My point was Petry was always decent, but looked bad on a bad team. I didn't say that about the bubble, but I agree nonetheless. Certainly a much better option than Mete. Maybe Mete is playing as bad as he can to pout and hope he gets traded faster PLD style.

Mete has always struggled in his zone, the facts he is now the 7th D puts even more pressure on him, he tends to be overly aggressive and gets into trouble quickly. The fact he is not paired with an experienced D does not help.

Just my uneducated opinion

i think we're overreacting on Chiarot. he was signed as a third-pairing guy who exceeded expectations and ended up next to Weber because there was no one else to fill that role. he's in a bad stretch but they all are. same with Weber. people have been writing him off since the end of his Nashville days but he always bounces back.

i'm far less worried about the defence than i am the forwards.
