Concrete heated floors. Open to suggestions. Digging in April.

- WaterBoy

I’d go slab heat for sure.

Never done it in all the houses I’ve built, definitely will in the next one.

Damn, Ottawa with 30 shots and the 2nd isn't even over...

Habs were better earlier in the season when they were scoring tons of goals and Julien wasn't happy about what he was seeing defensively.

You can put pannels with coils on them underneath a ceramic floor probably more cost-effective for a house

Yes, but for a basement with carpet, or hard surface, a heated slab that circulates off a hot water heater is the way to go.

Trust me.

I know a flooring guy..

Radiant heating is the best for sure. Is it really a concrete slab or an electric coil with a cement grout poured on it?

Yeah for the basement because that’s a concrete slab anyway all you have to do is put the pipes before they pour. I was thinking more other levels

For sure, the above grade electric coil systems are great for smaller areas.

But I think they top out at about 100 sqft for a 110v with a thermostat.

Anything larger has to got to 240v or another 110 coil w/ stat.

And I think the 240’s top out at 300 sqft.

So, things could get costly at 1200 sqft.

nope

Same system for both floors. Looked into this with friends and neighbours that have the same and it ends up being very good.

Yeah but a concrete slab on the first story means you have to put a steel deck, joists or beams and columns..

You should put in a geothermal pump in that swamp in your backyard that would be sick
