Eichels has checked out. Different sport but if Eichel had 10% of the heart Josh Allen does the team would be respectable.

I've never liked his body language.

nothing can give......he's a poop player on an even worst contract. nobody will take that deal, even if you attached Eichel to it. Sabres are stuck with him, so they should let him play, give him some good linemates and see if he can get out of this funk that he's been in......

1. Eichel is HURT. You can see it.

2. Eichel is not getting traded. Under any circumstance.

3. Krueger is horrible. Hes Chuck Noll trying to beat Brady and Mahommes by "run and stop the run".

4. Krueger hates Skinner for some reason. Not the first, or last, coach to hate a specific player for some unknown reason.

4. Krueger needs to go TODAY. 10 players underperforming.

Rumor has it Buffalo is in talks with Putin's guys to dig up some dirt on Skinner. Could push him into retiring.

skinner's buyout is actually not so bad. If they go full rebuild it's the likeliest outcome

Seems to me like more and more are noticing that matthews is really starting to seperate himself as best in the world.

Although i do feel that mackinnon certainly challenges him.

Ten friggen years...nothing but tight-pants fancy boys who mope around like someone stole their tandem bike. So many fragile players who fall apart when something goes wrong have come through this franchise since Drury and Briere abandoned ship in summer 2007. Here's to another rebuild!

Matthews isn't fit to hold McDavid's jock.....and anyone other than the most homerish of leaf fans (which clearly includes you and Campbell) will agree.

MVP debates aside (I doubt either one of them cares about the Hart), it all comes down to who can take their team further in the playoffs. That's it. Hopefully we'll get to see a series when it matters. Could be epic stuff.

which team goes further in the playoffs is not relevant to who's the better player.

the leafs are obviously a better team.........and if you swapped matthews and mcdavid, the leafs would be significantly improved

Matthews is a great player, no doubt, but he's not in the same league as Mcdavid

Skinner and Cozens for Gibson and Manson;

Book it.

- dozerD10

Most trade values can be seen from past history. Dumping a bad contract without retaining salary tends to cost a 1st round or a good prospect (Shaw for Teräväinen). Sometimes teams will swap bad contracts (Lucic for Neal).

As for Skinner...that makes the Lucic signing not look that bad with almost double the cap hit and the tons of years left for Skinner. If Buffalo was even able to find a team to absorb the full salary without shedding any it would cost AT LEAST a 1st or high prospect. Skinner and Cozens to take the bad contract sounds about right.

So what is Buffalo giving up for Gibson and Manson?

Someone needs to find another book.

the leafs had to give up a 1st to take one year of marleau. marleau, who made 3 mil less than skinner, and didn't have 6 years remaining.

skinner, with no money retained, probably costs cozens, a 2021 1st, and probably something else good. that is, WITHOUT DOUBT, the worst contract in the league. the sabres would have to sell the farm to unload that contract

last year Dallas went further than the leafs......so i guess that means that Seguin is better than Matthews?

I'm thinking more in line with the Crosby v Ovechkin debate. Like it or not, Crosby is considered the better player because of his team's early success over OV's in the playoffs. Even though OV was exceptional in those series. Never once was he not the best player while his team lost to PIT year after year, yet most consider Crosby to be the better player. Playoff success matters a lot.

crosby was considered the better player because, he was the better player.....not because his team went further.

OV is the better goal scorer, always was and always will be, but crosby was always the better overall player.

matthews is a slightly better goal scorer than mcdavid, but mcdavid is a MILES better overall player.

and if you judge them based on playoff success......mcdavid's teams have won a round, matthew's teams have won jack poop

And, that matters. You've never seen me say Matthews is better. No reason McDavid can't take Edmonton to the cup this year. I think Boston will most likely have something to say about it, but he's got his chance like anyone else.

I agree. Matthews and mcdavid are not in the same league. But im sure if mcdavid works hard at becoming a more complete player he can close the gap and catch up to mackinnon and matthews.

Again, disagree. 65 goal OV was a force of nature. He also threw 200 hits a season. People act like he didn't make defensemen piss their pants. Sid never did that. If OV were Canadian could you imagine the press he would have gotten North of the border? He was better than Sid as many seasons as Sid was better than him.

Exactly, now you're seeing the light. Just like matthews, crosby was the more complete, better overall player.

Eichel to the Rangers for Kreider, Laf, and a 1st.

Hall is gone at the end of the season. Not getting rid of Skinner without paying too high a price. When does Eichel finally request the trade? This summer? Next one?
