Yeah and pigs will fly. This will take years with mutations. Being open for business does not guarantee a profitable level of attendance. At mine and my wife's ages and health conditions, we will be quite choosey what we attend for a while. I'm sure we're not the only ones. Many of our friends are more cautious than us.

I think the option to go to games - with full attendance - will be there for you by the fall. It is of course your choice whether to go.

Or you can stay home and an airplane engine falls on your house and kills you. But if you want to live being scared of your every move, go right ahead.

Edit: I am not directing this at you personally, but just as a point of reference. Life=risks.

Precisely correct
Maybe you might not get covid
Maybe you survive if did get it
It is your right and I would not stop anyone from free election
But I won't risk it
You noticed sports leagues won't risk not being safe
I know a President who took chances
He got it
I hope others who don't get vaccinated for any of different reasons, do not get it
More strains mutations popping up
People smoke too and get cancer
It is a risk taking society
I thinkajority of business people strongly consider getting a vaccination and being safe
It is an economic well being based decision
But even with free vaccination taken by many
Covid will be in our midst for years

Just go to the CDC or Covid tracker and look at actual results. Cases are plummeting. The end is near.

You can trust whomever you’d like. Johns Hopkins is one of the preeminent medical facilities in the world. Northwestern Chief Medical Officer on WGN Radio right now saying the exact same thing, as well as stating that the vaccines are proving highly effective at stopping illness and death.

IT is not near the end when many choose not to get the vaccination. Covid is not going away although the infectious numbers and deaths should decrease

The flu is here every year also, and even with the flu shot you are at risk of catching it, and many cases are fatal. How long did it take to eradicate Polio? Up to 10% of those contracting Polio expired. How long did it take to eradicate TB? That is potentially fatal also.

Of course those pandemics were treated as a disease, not a cause to promote one point of view or another.

You're also at risk of getting killed by a drunk driver on the way to and from the game. Lots of risk in the world.

3 million or so kids die a year around the world from hunger. 655k people in the US die from heart disease each year.

We don't seem to care about that at all.

COVID is serious and real but I welcome some good news about it. Not just constant negativity to influence how the public behaves.

I'm rather Liberal too on the political spectrum.

And doctors are doctors. They all have different opinions. Some doctors like to tell you all the really bad stuff to scare you. Then when its good news at the end they like to act with such relief!

BUT HOCKEY!!!!!!

Has there been any news on Dach or Toews in the last month or so? I haven't seen anything.

Fairly recently they said Dach was going to skate soon, but that he is a long way off.

Toews is complete silence in the past couple weeks.

Was Dach's wrist the same as Kruger's injury? Kruger was never the same and if I recall he kept injuring it too.... but memory on that isn't the best.

The last time the Hawks were nationally televised (Detroit?) Bob McKenzie was on and said the Hawks were in contact with Toews, but that there was virtually no news on the matter. The longer this drags on the more concerning it is. You start thinking much less about Hockey and much more simply about his well being.

Last I saw (I think last week) they said Dach was skating (and skating very well), but not doing much else. They cautioned that he was skating so well that he looked like he could come back soon, but everyone doused all that talk immediately and said they will be more than cautious with him and his wrist. I think the earliest we see him is next year.

That sounds about right as far as Dach's status. I believe Bowman said to the press that he will clearly look ready to play now because his skating is up to speed given his injury was not lower body. Yet, he said don't be fooled because the wrist will take a long time to heal and rehab.

Whether others like him or not, Nylander has been working out and rehabbing off ice with Goodman and crew. Not sure if he has done any light skating yet. Doubt it.

It is an interesting read. It also highlights the fact that having players like Kane, Keith, etc playing during a rebuild can be extremely valuable to the development and improvement of the younger players.

Not only are they world class players, but they are showing the work and fight to continually get better. At 58, or however old Keith is right now, he still wants to be the best on the ice and works to that end. Kane continually is refining his game and trying to steal advantages from other players. While they both acknowledge that the FO has a job to do and will make moves that aren't necessarily geared toward winning now, they are not packing it in, or accepting defeat or regression. In all of their comments, they still demand a lot from themselves and their teammates - regardless of experience.

It's so weird, but I continually think he is not injured and just being scratched every night in Rockford. I just have the goofy mental block with him for some reason.

I hope he can come back strong and be a contributor at some point. He's got size and good hands. Maybe not being able to play for so long will light a fire under him.

He is going to have to work hard to rehab that knee in order to play NHL hockey again, hopefully he does and takes that work ethic onto the ice with him.
