First of all you are cherry picking numbers there have been four different GMs in the years that you listed . McTavish Ciarelli Keith Gretzky and Holland . I would even remove Gretz and that is still three .

Next of the list of Dmen that you named there is so far only one that has proven value . Baer is a 5/6 guy and Buchard and Broeberg yet to be proven. They may be good in years but so far are just potentials .

The Oilers in the last decade and a year have had four firsts, a third ,a fourth, a seventh , and an eighth . Oilers have only hit on one draft pick in the second round since 2011(Klefbom). That is not good drafting .

The teams from eight years ago still had the benefit of a Taylor Hall and RNH. Oilers have only hit on one draft pick in the second round since 2011(Klefbom). That is not good drafting .
