They're getting Hughes in the deal, or Petey. There's just no way they make a deal without one or both of those pieces. Personally I'd look at Hughes, Miller, and Schmidt type of deal. Build around that.

I'd be more inclined to trade Hughes than Petey. I'm sure whatever they're asking for is a boat load, but at the same time they're not going to want to rebuild (picks) and they're not going to want too many older guys...

Then again, the chances of them trading Eichel AND Dahlin to the same team is basically zero.

If the Canucks land the 4th or 5th OA pick in this years draft, do you do Hughes, JTM, and the pick for them?

Sounds like Dahlin and Eichel are calling out their teammates. Just seen a couple tweets on another site where Dahlin has said, make a hit, have a fight do something.

I like him more than I already did. That is leadership.

Or horrible leadership if he's not doing that stuff either.... I haven't watched but unless he's going 110% every shift, thats poor leadership

You could easily make a case for Eichel being our best forward and Dahlin being our best Dman.....for the next 10 years. You're going to have to give to get, but you're talking on money so you need to ship some moving forward.

You *could* make the argument that Quinn Hughes is better at this NHL hockey thing than Rasmus Dahlin. Both this year and in their (admittedly brief) careers playing for not-good-teams, QH has more points, a higher PPG, and fewer goals against, with similar minutes and both of them having PP1 opportunity. Of course, QH is a lot smaller and struggles against heavy forechecks and this year has earned justified criticism for glaring mistakes.

Having said that, I’d love to have RD...would be such a great add. Would hate to give up QH to get him. I’d take JE + RD + EP40 over JE + RD + QH, though, if that helped get a deal done.

I watched the 2 games against Flyers Dahlin was making hits when possible other than the 1 time at the end of a lengthy shift he never engaged.
The Sabres are doing fly-bys like worse than the Canucks have been doing.

I don’t know. You can make an argument that Eichel is a negative asset given his contract. Stay away.

Meh, he's still a really good hockey player. He's not worth $10 million on today's market but he's still worth $8. Give it 3 years. If you had Eichel, EP and Bo as your top 3 C then you're going to control the play, especially with some young wingers looking to make the jump. Those 3 centres can handle nearly 60 minutes amongst them, so you really need a developmental 4C.

Agree. Bo as the best 3C in the league?
Might have a shortage of good wingers for those 3

If Benning CB could somehow pull off a trade bringing JE and RD for a package including Hughes, they’d raise a statue of him in Van (ponders what that might look like 🤔)

Well you have 2 entry level wingers in Podz an Hog for sure playing top 9, Boeser playing top 3.

It's much easier to find wingers though than top C's, and we'd have 3 of those.

So it's fair to suggest than that a guy like Myers contract still looks worse than JE's?

The Sabres are paying Erhoff 857K a year until 2028 it doesn't count against their cap, I'd love the Aquilinis to have some contracts like that
