Strange as playoff hockey sounds again the Blackhawks are in a position to win the fourth spot over Dallas and Columbus. Nashville, however, may actually be the strongest competitor to gain entry to the post season should Chicago stumble in the final month of the regular season

Dallas has 25 games in 30 days. They are going to be gassed. Columbus runs hot and cold. Laine isn't helping enough. Torts isn't going to get this group running on high octane IMHO

We just saw Nashville. Their coach had them playing tough defense. Saros could lead them into the playoffs, not Rhine. The Preds do more things right than Chicago and is the better team right now. They have some Injured players but so what, they are playing better than us - they could get that last spot.

The Blackhawks could really benefit if Keith and Kane, two veterans who have been there, would lead the charge. It helps that Kalynuk (not Mitchell) is earning a job. Now if Colliton can get the breakout
AND stop players stop looking to do the stretch pass so frequently, then I like our chance better to make the post season

There are other things the team needs to correct but if they improve in the aforementioned, then they have a better opportunity to win.

It’s Rinne and you should know that since he owns you. Cane has been a much better player since he grew up, curtailed the drinking and assaulting cabbies, women. Rhine? Sheesh

Kalynuk is impressive. As much as Bowman takes his share of deserved criticism, every one of these young defensemen look like they belong in the NHL. They all need to work on things, but they all have great foundations.

Really could see how excited Hino was to be back. Played with a high motor the whole game.

2 important points last night. Hopefully can get at least 1 point tomorrow.

Loved seeing Vinnie back in a Hawks uniform and being a difference maker. There should be a lot of fans on blog sites (fans who minimized and trivialized the trade) with egg on their faces this morning.

I hear what you are saying, unfortunately a bad habit with this team is forcing passes, there was 2 guys praying Cat would make that pass out to Bo and he did. The right play and this goes for so many Hawks in the offensive zone, if you have no play just throw it along the boards behind the goalie.

I don't know if he was the best dman last night Theo but he certainly was effective. I think they have him listed at 180, he sure don't play like he's 180, he plays much heavier. I like how he is AWARE of deHaan chasing the puck and protects his goalie, his guy leaves he stays in front, i recall last night Adam chasing his guy behind the net and thought oh no, but Lanky made a great save,

I'm sure opponents understand if I'm a forward as soon as i pass it to the back of the net the dmen will chase the puck and all i have to do is beat the guy who's covering me to the front of the net, who's usually watching the play for a second or two

Impressed with Kalynuks ability to pass, bank passes off the boards, it's early but damn I'd have him with Keith at the end of the game protecting the lead instead of deHaan

Dallas came back with 2 in the third, one on the bad play by ADB shorthanded, and one shot wide that bounced off the backboard right to Faksa, but the Hawks actually did a good job defensively in the third period, they only gave up 8 SOG.

Yeah but they lost seven of their last 10 so this is obviously just a blip in the road to a lottery pick.

Don't get too excited yet. Bodean was gonna be a star earlier this season; now I can't spell his name right and some here are shipping him out for draft busts. Kalynuk will be traded by the board soon enough, my good man.

Except for the fact that our D-men have been making those same horrible passes on the PP as well. The Hawks are tied for the league lead with 5 shorties against.

He looked good but lets hold off holding a parade for him until it's consistently done. Human nature to have a chip on your shoulder and bust tail for the remainder of the season. Another level to bring it every night.

He did look very good. Very fast and even saw him bust ass on a back check in the 3rd period.

JC made positive, supportive comments after the game about his team's performance in the 3rd period. He's done that several times this year to reinforce their efforts and keep them plugging away. I know he's a 2nd tier beer league coach, but that is good stuff by him, especially with a young team.

Fun thing for me to watch the remainder of the season is how this young team reacts when they are up in the 3rd and these older, veteran teams bring the heat....alla, playoff intensity. Whole other level and we have seen it in spurts this year when the Hawks have gotten leads and just been blitzed for a large portion of the 3rd.

Again, lots of teams sit back and play a more conservative game but Hawks at times look to lose their composure in their own end and the clown car starts. Eddie O was hell bent on them calling a timeout after the 2nd goal against, and if it wasn't for a HUGE murphy shot block when the mad Russian floated way too high....may have been tied up.

hard to coach that until guys experience it but that's one of the main things I am interested to see how they adjust to as these teams are fighting more and more for playoff position.

Dont look now but 88 is becoming quite the leader in the absence of Toews and Seabrook. LIttle pregame speech to the boys about ramping it up the remaining part of the year. Seems he has a TON of respect in the room......give him a TON of credit for maturing as a player, leader and even doing a lot of small things to take the ice up 1 with less than a minute to go.......

True, but what Vinnie gives the bottom 6 is something Wallmark, Carpenter, Kampf, Highmore can not, and that is the ability to make a play in the offensive zone.

Special announcement coming from Rocky and Pritzker at 10. Fans coming back hopefully? They are reporting from Rockford, so hope it includes the UC.

Could be, but I think it might have to do with the Hawks buying the Ice Hogs.

I think the state has some ownership in the Hogs, iirc. Attendance at the UC would also involve Ms. Lightfoot.

There are some photos out of cordoned off seat blocks and social distancing signs at the UC, so my guess is that they are closer to opening to some fans.
