Definitely shouldn't be buyers. The current run has been fun but there's a little bit of fool's gold mixed in there. They shouldn't sell off Ekholm either. There was really no rush to do this, this season unless Poile gets made an offer he can't refuse. (Though I worry his idea of that might be way different then ours) I love the fact he's been asking for the moon for Ekholm and not moving off of that. He shouldn't because he doesn't have too, there's no rush to move him. Maybe he learned from what Sakic did to him a couple of years ago. Maybe dangle a couple of the rent-a-players and see what kind of offer you get for them.

Let's face it, the kids are the reason the team is winning right now. They've brought solid effort and a work ethic that this team has been desperately missing over the past couple of years. All burning future assets to acquire another middle-of-the-road player or two is going to do is take spots away from the kids who've, quite frankly, earned them. It's already going to happen with Duchene and Ellis come back, and this team probably falls back into their lazy entitled habits with everyone doing their own thing instead of working as a team.

Let's face another fact... The team is improving, but they still have a long way to go. They're likely not going to beat Tampa, Carolina, or Florida in a PO series, and there's no late season addition that's going to put them over that hump. I say leave the roster mostly as is, and if you sneak into the playoffs, see what happens. Maybe you catch fire and make a run. All the injuries this season have been a blessing in disguise. It's exposed how desperately this team needed a culture change... Hopefully Poile and management were paying attention.

As usual, Paul never tells the whole story. They are 4-12-1 against the highlighted teams who also happen to occupy playoff spots 1-3. Glad to see them doing better with the youth movement. It's something to build on for sure. I think they could still move Granlund and Cousins at the deadline and be ok for next season.

Silly man!

The point of these 'nothing' screeds is the promotion of Paul's brand, not offering any insight.

"Blow it up, fire everyone, etc.. seems a bit silly".

Got to hand it to you Paul. You truly are the "Company" man. No blog unless Preds are winning eh.

Let's face facts. Not scoring a lot of goals, D is so so. They are winning only because of Saros.

that would tarnish the brand

Agreed. "On the ice" they look like a team that shouldn't have as many wins as they do .. even my 12yo can see it.

No, he doesn't. I can't speak for other Preds fans, but I'm no longer interested in just participating in the playoffs. There's no point in buying just to earn the honor of getting slapped around by Tampa or Carolina. Leave the team alone, and if they make it on their own merits, great, let's see what happens. No point in mortgaging more if the future for a pipedream at this point.

Apparently Poile is now interested in the Kings Dustin Brown... To our advantage, EK is almost universally wrong about this crap but still... If it's true please stop David... Just Stop...

I equivocate the Preds recent winning streak as to playing against the Vanderbilt football team multiple straight times. You feel good, but then you have to play Georgia or Alabama......

The Preds are a paper tiger, they are bottom feeding. Lets see how they do against Tampa Saturday, I suspect it will be a reality check.
Oh and I'll say and say it again Fire Hynes! Sell at the deadline.
As for Paul, yeah when they win hes all fired up, they lose the turtles up. Good guy though.

Kyle Turris is on waivers... I'm absolutely stunned.
