Parise Is no longer a key In the Wild lineup, He Is basically done as an NHL player and a perfect buyout candidate for Minnesota. |

Probably true.

No, this is incorrect as he produced 46 points in 69 games last season. Furthermore, you should educate yourself on the implications of a buyout of contract like Parise's as the wild would be on the hook for Millions against the cap for years. |

Buying out Parise would be a great move for the Wild, He's done and nobody gives a crap about last year, Nostalgia doesn't make a team better. |

Parise Is on the 4th line tonight with a couple of AHLers right where he belongs. |

Shady, BMG is right, buying out Parise would be just plain stupid and extremely ill timed. Here is what you would be looking at with keeping Parise around until hsi contract expires...
Season 2021-2022: Cap Hit: $7,538,461
Season 2022-2023: Cap Hit: $7,538,461
Season 2023-2024: Cap Hit: $7,538,461
Season 2024-2025: Cap Hit: $7,538,461 (Final year of contract)
Season 2025-2026: Cap Hit: $0 (Parise is probably retired at this point)
Now, if the Wild were to buyout Parise at the end of this season, here is what they would be looking at, cap space wise...
Season 2021-2022: Cap Hit: $2,371,794 (saving a hair over $5 mil this year)
Season 2022-2023: Cap Hit: $6,371,794 (less than $1.2 mil saved)
Season 2023-2024: Cap Hit: $7,371,794 ($150k saved, really no savings)
Season 2024-2025: Cap Hit: $7,371,794 (same as last year, no savings)
Season 2025-2026: Cap Hit: $833,333 (and he is not playing)
Season 2026-2027: Cap Hit: $833,333 (and he is not playing)
Season 2027-2028: Cap Hit: $833,333 (and he is not playing)
Season 2028-2029: Cap Hit: $833,333 (and he is not playing)
So, the Wild would get 1 season where they actually get a decent break in cap space, but other than that, everything else stays basically the same. And then they also get an additional $800k tied up for another 4 years after when the contract would have been over. So, no, buying out Parise would be a historically bad idea for Guerin. Thank to Cap Friendly for those numbers. |

with a buyout, parise would be on the books for 8 more years. The small amount of cap savings they'd get isn't worth that. |

Wild once again showing that they might lose a game here and there but they rebound with vengeance. What a dominant game so far. 8 on the board already, could they hit 10? |

Impressive win for Minnesota, What I took away from the game Is that Colorado Is arguably the best team In the league and there window Is wide open to win It all this year but If Sakic fails to find an adequate back up goaltender the Avs will fail. Grubauer Is amazing but also tired. |
