I think Mitts can be our Derek Roy of 05-07 except Mitts won't be able to get the girls Roy could get. - sabresfan69
That’s actually not a bad comparison |

I do not want any crap cap in the 2021-22 season for moving hall
take a second instead of the first if that is the situation - navinrjohnson
Even if we trade Eichel as well ? |

Then i suppose it does make sense FOR NOW not to take on any unnecessary future Cap
That could limit the teams we’ll be able to make deals with though (at the deadline) |

if jack wants out, he gone
I really hope he gets 10 or so games at the end of the season as I feel this system fits him better then any other he has had as a sabre |

If it's that, then you take Koskinen because it's over the soonest.
Send Ullmark to Toronto, Sam to the Blues, VO to the Bruins. If you're trading Eichel, it's scorched Earth nuked from orbit
I have no appetite for that, but that's how you do that. |

He has literally no leverage at all ......
He has what .... 4 to 5 years left?
Name me one nhl player that has successfully held out with no contract issues and that much term left |

With Skinner and Okposo, they have enough dead money in the books, how much more do you want?
I fully, fully understand the strategy behind weaponizing the Cap, but you are screwing yourself for years and years. I don't believe that this fanbase will accept another dive to bottom for 3 - 4 years during which time that strategy becomes relevant.
They need a plan to build a team around Eichel, and fast...not plugging it with deadweight. |

It didn't say we would have to take one of those players back, but one of those players would need to be moved to get extensions done for Hall and RNH. |

Between the return for Hall and Staal, the draft and the pieces in place, they should be able to ice a competent team next year. The fan base's appetite for a controlled burn is nonexistent, like you said |

The draft pieces? The odds off 1 out of 3 of the potential picks we are getting from both trades
The likelihood of hitting is slim to none. |

If you get a pair of 2nds from a Hall trade, flip one for a useful player off a cap-strapped team |

I don’t necessarily wanna trade Jack either
But I’ve been playing devil’s advocate lately bc so many here seem to not want to even acknowledge that it’s a real possibility |

That’s a lot of “if come” ..... I’m not buying what your selling.
I 100% don’t trust Adams karmanos drafting with what ..... 4-6 “video” scouts |

they need to keep Jack, they need to do all they can to turn this around and keep him. trading him would be a last resort move. |

Trade Reinhart while his stock is high.
He is not capable of driving a line and has been invisible. |

I'm sure there's a certain segment of the fan base that would be interested in a 30 year old Kassian for 3 more years at $3.2m per
I... am not of that mindset - jcragcrumple
I honestly think a 30-year old Kassian at 3x3 is something we desperately need, unfortunately. If we could get a 1st and Kassian for Hall I say we take that deal all god damn day long and don't even think twice.
We get 2 good pieces in return for someone who has done NOTHING for us and has an expiring contract.
I take that deal if no other offers contain a 1st round pick or equivalent, but I don't see a nice prospect coming back.
Hell, I would offer Hall and Olofsson to Philadelphia for Nolan Patrick straight up and see if they bite.

I would also take two 2nd round picks for Taylor Hall if offered but I would push it and ask for an additional 4th rounder. |

Might not be up to us
Jack is gonna have something to say about it
He does t owe us anything after these pitiful 6years we’ve utterly failed to build a team around him |
