So zajac and palms with retained salary for a late 1st a career AHL player at 27 and a mid prospect in greer who may become a depth player
Not sure it's great for us
Sharo Nico bratt
Kouk hughes gusev
Wood zacha johnsson
Maltsev McLeod thompson

With 9 million in cap space the devils can buy picks or prospects to help facilitate trades. I like it.

I can't complain. Its pretty much a 1st for Palms and a 4th for Zajac. Definitely prefer the 1st over the heavily rumored 2nd and Bellows, so i don't hate it.
I didn't think Palms was worth a 1st and I am proven wrong |

Or get whatever crap some other team was offering.
First rounders during these times with covid and cap staying flat is a high price. Teams need their draft picks more than ever for ELCs.

Yeah, I guess we gotta wait to see what the other returns are like but this is underwhelming. I guess it gives me a team to root for in the playoffs though. |

Why be upset? Like look forward to what the team can do with the first rounder? Maybe make a trade or use it. More picks! More chances! |

uggh, don't love this at all. A very late first. Only positive is the Devils are moving straight to the cellar this year. For 50% retained, ugly. |

I dont get why people are upset with a 1st for Palms lol. I dont think he's worth that, and i think Lou is the only person who was willing to give it. Its a slow trade market, flat cap, and buyers market. Fitz did fine here. Nobody was giving up a top prospect for a rental, and as i said in a previous comment i didnt think we would even get a 1st |

how many picks do we have for this years draft last i count 2 1st and 1 2nd and 2 3rds |
|
|
|
They could pair up this first with their second (also from the Islanders from a previous trade) and try to move up if someone they are targeting falls in Round one. Lou knew no one offered them a first and he dangled it but under his terms. |

Its Palms and Zajac, 50 % retained for a LATE first. That is crap. The other parts of the trade are crap, pure crap. Maybe that was the best available. Still disappointing at best. This draft is a crap shoot so the difference between a late first and anywhere in the second is pretty inconsequential. |

Its a 1st for Palms and a 4th for Zajac. How is that crap? I can guarantee you Trav wasnt waiving for anybody else, so you cant really get more than that for him. Palms isnt worth more than a 1st, ive been saying it all along hes worth a 2nd and B prospect at most, this is equal or even more. The draft being a crapshoot is a good thing, there are going to be more later steals than usual because after the top 10 or so everything is up in the air, especially with OHL kids not playing. If you expect more than you're just delusional about how much value our assets were worth, especially in the current economy. Its a fine return |

You are entitled to your opinion, but to call me delusional is offensive and wrong. State you opinion, which i disagree with, and keep the petty name calling to yourself. |

Much worse players than Palms have gotten 1st + before, we'll have to see how the market shakes out in the end but would have at least like to squeeze some better conditions on the Zajac pick if we're basically giving him to them and we're taking money on both. |

In case anybody was wondering, Todd wrote about the return and he approves of it. He said Fitz did fairly well everything considered |
