Carol Schram: Canucks' facility re-opens Sunday, with a daunting challenge ahead With the worst of their Covid-19 outbreak behind them, the Vancouver Canucks' training facility is re-opening on Sunday. But the team won't resume regular practice until Wednesday, ahead of a return to game action on Friday night against Edmonton.

Thank you Carol!

Waiving mete and spending a prospect and pick on John merrill is certainly something.

Too bad Van isn't allowed to trade any of their defencemen.

If SigenwhetherhisnamefromNJ is worth a 3rd round pick.

Mete is a smaller Stecher and not as good. NHL. com has him listed as 5'9". I would be surprised if he is claimed.

All I'm asking from Jim Benning is another 3rd, 4th, and 5th round pick.

Going with 7-9-3 to end the season. Gives them a .464 win percentage and selecting in 8th spot in the draft. Shall see what the draft lotto gives us after. Drafting 10th again, will annoy the (frank)en poop out of me.

Are the top prospects in this draft any good?

Would carpetbagging the last part of the season and finishing in the bottom 5 net an NHL ready prospect, or one that would be ready in 2023?

Breaking - #Canucks will not be reopening team’s practice facilities today after an additional player was added to #Covid protocol list.

I don't see them being anything good. With players coming back after Covid, so many back-to-backs, and the time off... I think they're gonna be pretty shot against teams that are ramping up for the playoffs.

Well, I hope anyways

*at the earliest*

The official announcement also says that the additional case is someone who hasn’t been around the team since the 31st. I wonder if that means it is a player that was on the injury list. And, does it mean this new case is unrelated to the outbreak - they got it somewhere else?

Victor Mete on Waivers, seems like a bit of a no brainer to me for someone to scoop him

When they started the season it was after a time off. Was a heavy schedule with many back to backs. They were playing pretty terribly.

7-11-1 in those first 19 games in 34 days.

Only difference was no covid and less injuries but didn't have as much practice time.

8 of the next 19 games are against Ottawa and Calgary.

I think it seems reasonable. Plus with nothing left on the line, they will be loose.

When they started the season it was after everyone was off.

Right now they're jumping into the end of the season when teams have found their legs (aside from Calgary), and a lot of guys are coming back from a disease that has lingering issues for some.

We'll see. I just don't see them finding much mojo coming out of this.

Carol Schram: Canucks' facility re-opens Sunday, with a daunting challenge ahead
With the worst of their Covid-19 outbreak behind them, the Vancouver Canucks' training facility is re-opening on Sunday. But the team won't resume regular practice until Wednesday, ahead of a return to game action on Friday night against Edmonton.

The Canucks have gone through some trying times, kudos to Benning for standing by his players through these difficult times. Regardless of the hysterical fan base and moronic media, the Canucks will be a playoff team next year.
