This would be a horrible move. Why trade for another player that's undersized and only plays in the offensive zone? Not to mention said offensive play has been on the decline for the past 3 seasons. I guess if the Flyers want more of the same, give up younger assets and big dollars for underperforming go ahead, but this trade should always be a hard pass.

While I don't doubt that the rumors continue to grow I have two big issues with it.
1. Fletcher is unlikely to, or potentially unable to move the players who most need to be moved out.
2. The cost for JG will be so high that the developing forwards core will undoubtedly be gutted.

Realistically, I don't trust Fletcher. If there is a move to be made he will find a way to screw it up.

They may be sellers, in the sense that they are not going anywhere this post season. However, they will be buyers if they can grab somebody for next year and beyond

On the brightside... He didn’t do a panic, bad trade in March. I’d rather him hold, then a bad trade.

By not making a painc trade and acquiring additional draft picks they can be used in the expansion draft to get Seattle to select a player like Voracek or JVR...which will make more cap space to go out and make the changes that are needed.
