CBJ has to explore the possibility of moving Laine. Without a 1C Laine is basically a really nice car with no gas right now on CBJ.
Wildcard is obviously rumors Torts is going to retire at the end of the season. If Jarmo knows that to be true, it will take a GREAT offer to move Laine because any other new coach wouldn't limit Laine's play the way Torts does. |

Columbus is in sell mode. It would however take a Kings ransom to get this king of a deal done today. |

Overpayment imho,if that's what the price tag is then he can stay in cbj.laine is a one dimensional player who cant drive possession and play by himself or for himself.he needs a center or other winger that opens ice for him to shoot.great goal scorer for sure, but without help we see what he truly is.

Laine will be an off-season move if moved at all. |

What does it say about Laine’s desire to win, if all he wants to do is to sit in the California sun and be part of a long rebuild?
Seems to me that he’s okay with losing. |

Has anyone else corroborated this information? Does everyone actually know that he wants to be in LA?

No one but Ek have been blowing this smoke, Ek is just throwing darts at a board, and coming up with rumours. |

Actually CBJ's may wish to shop for a 1C with their shiny new 1st rounders! It may not happen til the off-season unless Buffalo trades Eichel today! |

Is there anything he's said or done so far to suggest he has any competitive drive beyond that?

You cant get to the NHL without being competitive or having drive

Take it with a grain of salt but a coworker grew up and played hockey with Nate Beaulieu and Nate says Laine is way more interested in PlayStation than training for hockey. Again..3rd hand info but I can see it. |

As a King fan in LA I don’t think that is enough, you’d have to think Columbus wants at least 1 1st rd pick coming back. I’m guessing but I would think
Kings get Laine
Columbus get Villardi,Thomas and a 1st either this year or next year
Kings have such center depth they can afford to lose Villardi and Thomas as look at their depth overall. Personally I don’t want Laine as we are still 2 years away from competing and I want to see what these kids can do before we move them.

Some guys have talent. Some have drive and determination. Yes, to get to the NHL you have to have both to varying degrees, but he seems like a guy who has been blessed with an abundance of one and just enough of the other to get by.
There's been little over the years to indicate his on or off ice work ethic belongs in the same conversation as other superstars in this league.

I think laine is talented, great shot, can skate and knows how to score but as a kings fan myself I want no part of him putting on our jersey.our future is very bright and I think with our future center depth we might find our own 30-40 goal guy without giving up assets or picks.imo he just doesnt fit in our plans
