Hey Matt,
I think you were generous giving the Panthers 10 minutes to lose that last game vs Dallas. I thought they did it in under 3 minutes. Seriously, they were cooked faster than most eggs. The whole game was pathetic and low energy; they seemed disinterested. Not what you want to see in a playoff race.

Tonight is a late game, 8:30 FL time; maybe they'll be ready to go when the puck drops.

Regarding the trade deadline, I think Zito did well. Too soon really to tell. But if 2 or 3 of Bennett, Montour, Gusev, and Wallmark have above average impact and 1 of them actually gets impressive, it could be very good. Zito has struck gold a couple of times while panning in that river. I sure don't think he failed, set back the team, or did any kind of disaster so it seems the odds are in his favor.

On the subtraction side, I'm most sad to see Stillman go, but I think he wasn't really ready for a regular role with the big team and he was probably redundant. Like Hinostroza, he will probably get more regular playing time with the Hawks. Next year, Chicago will be back in the other division/conference so I don't see any of those guys biting us back Trocheck-style.

I was really hoping that Zito would be able to package up something with Boston and Yandle, but that didn't happen.

Anyway, the Panthers managed to get some rest since Saturday. Maybe they'll turn it around tonight with fresh energy from re-charged batteries. Looking for a big win!

Go Panthers!

They certainly were cooked fast, Jimbo. Haha.

I was def most bummed about Stillman. Thought he had a lot of upside and would bring a different look to the Cats’ blueline. I played well last night for the Hawks (I thought).

It’s going to be interesting to see how some of these guys shake out. There is a bigger game here that Zito is playing (IMO)...

The combo of the profile picture and random, one-word “meow” comment is killing me right now.. Well played, my friend. Hahaha.

Duclair is back in the lineup, but now Verhaeghe is out week to week with “upper body injury”.

Close call.

Nice to get the 2 points.

It's getting to be dangerous to be between Frank Vatrano and the net in the 3rd period or OT. What a great pick up he was!

Driedger was huge in the 3rd when we fell asleep and let the stars own us. I wonder what the best offer for driedger was?
