The more i watch games this season the more i wonder why coaches havent kept Jake & G on seperate lines. Together on the ice every team skates by them, back check is almost non existence and they are just O zone players now.
SPLIT them up ffs, use the kids to supplement there lack of speed and play a better neutral zone defense to limit the odd man rushes.
For the love of god can someone please cover the high slot, i have never seen this team so weak in the middle of the ice in there own zone. |

They have been on separate lines for years, as far as I've observed. Sure, they were together back when they were killing it together before their humongous contracts were signed, but I think AV usually keeps them separate (Power play and also end of game desperation offense excepted.) |

I dunno if the last thread was a joke but I feel that both the Giroux and Coots moves in the skills comp were damn nice to get us a win. |

Really liked Allison’s game last night. He has a lot of fight in him. Hopefully they give him long enough look. |

If we can move Jake, somehow get Eichel and move G to 3C, that'd be no joke
To Phi: Eichel
To Buf: Voracek, Frost, Sanheim, 2022 unprotected 1st & 2023 top 5 protected. |

That's a lot to give up (not sure about the salary difference, or if it would work), but I like the idea.
It would really shake up the lineup. |

It's not that much to give up.
In this scenario, Coutourier is our 2C, York replaces Sanheim, and those picks hopefully won't be that good anyway, except this year, I meant this year's pick.
And the next year protected? If it doesn't convey and we are awful they get the next year's (2023 first) unprotected.

I would try anything except Coots.
Flyers covet the center spot and we would have TWO possible all-league guys. |

Not since AV's post-game press conference. We will see today/tomorrow. Have to be very careful. When he got hit by the Clutterbuck shot a couple years ago, he only missed one game and then returned.

Why not just let Morin play the rest of the season. They are calling up players which is great to give them a look. Morin is finally healthy , give him a chance to continue to learn at the NHL level and see if he can truly be a 6Dman next year |

like i said last night, I don't care if they win, they have little to no shot at the PO's. I just want to see better structure and more important I want to see Individuals play better , starting with Hart. I want the Allison's and the Tanner L's to keep playing well and for the kids in LHV to take a step forward. That would set up next season and open up all the trade possibilities to reshape the NHL club.
Wow, been hoping for Allison to get healthy, great start last night, really skates much better than I knew. Tanner L skates better than I knew. They progress then you can try to roll out a Jake or a JVR.
This is not going to be popular but I would hold onto G and Jake. I think both will have a good bounce back season. At the very least, I would not overspend assets to move Jake. I would add sweeteners to move JVR, not because i don't like his play, hell they don't get him the puck in front on the PP but because he is the same player as most of their vets, big and only an average skater. If they improve you can replace JVR with an Allison type, who is not the net front presence that JVR is but a little faster and better shot, though his tip last night was pretty good. Then add speed on the wings and fill the D hole. As a stop gap a Nick Leddy type would fit, great wheels and good all around, if there is a better long term fit, make the deal. If you trade a TK, you better get back a faster skilled player, add picks or prospects but get back a better NHL player. I will be sending my list to Santa...
PS hagg is playing some of his best hockey, they missed his snarl when he was out. Sucks because I wanted to see more of Morin but happy about Hagg. The only contract I see that you could not trade is Hayes. The others the term is not bad and you could retain salary to move, plus they have all their picks, you could add to move. I mean JVR for 2 years at 5 mil or less for the Kraken, they will need players who can put the puck in the net. |

Good to see Carter Hart have a good game. I worry about him on this team right now. He’s had a lack of confidence at times this season and the “no defense” approach the team has this year isn’t helping him. |

What was it 6 penguin odd man rushes last night? Hart was on top of his game, not the flyers. |

How does that trade make the Flyers better in the short term and long term?
Note I'm not saying Eichel isn't a stud but he also isn't McJeebus. |

I liked Allison's game as well, a much better skater than I thought, and for some reason he kept reminding me of Tim Kerr, if we can only be that lucky! I just hope the existing culture does not rub off on him in these remaining games.
I would also like to see Morin get back in the lineup, and either Braun or Sanheim should sit since both co-shared my Sucks with a capital 'S' award last night. |

Cap wise this would work fine, since the Flyers would be trading about $12+M and taking back $10M in Eichel. Its not a bad trade idea, but I would give only 1 pick, not 2. If I were the Sabres however, I would want to see Frost play before I made this deal, since Frost suffered a major shoulder injury that some players have never recovered from completely.

It could have been a shutout last night, Hart had that one gaff on the Penguins goal where I thought he should have just covered the puck instead of trying a poke check, other than that he was stellar, including the shoot out.
