I don't know what to think about Fiala... Seems like a great kid and certainly has the necessary skills to be an elite forward, but sometimes he just makes such bone headed mistakes...

and for the love of God, can we be done with the Victor Rask experiment... the guy is a disaster on skates... his horrible play and countless mistakes with the puck DO NOT MAKE UP for the occasional point or good play that he does make. Just my opinion, but i do not want to see him in a WIld sweater in the post season nor beyond that.

I am getting annoyed with the Wild and game broadcasts getting Involved In the political and social Issues, The professional sports leagues have got to realize It's a TURN OFF to the fans, We want to be entertained and get away from reality that's why we tune In.

For once we agree... these sports leagues feel compelled to kow tow to the left and their racial narrative, but these teams and players are paid millions of dollars a year BY the fans that support them, STAY the hell out of politics and aspiring to moral compass those fans. WE DONT WANT TO HEAR IT!

We also agree on Rask Mngump and you can add Sturm to that list.

Last night on NBCSNLSD Darren Dreger said that Rick Tocchet was a great coach and that If he was fired at seasons end a lot of teams would be Interested In him, I was laughing so hard I nearly spilled my beer.

ALL PRAISE GUMP AND SHADY!!!

Finally, someone else going off on Rask. He should have been bought out after last year. The guy can't win a faceoff when it's needed, skates slower than Suter at his 75% speed and appears to have ZERO awareness when he is on the ice. Maybe we keep him as a 3rd pairing D if the Wild lose Soucy to Seattle. Just still not clear on Shady's dislike for Sturm. he was never going to be a Top 6 forward for the Wild and his max is probably a decent (not great) 3C. Sturm wins more faceoffs than Rask, is DEFINITELY faster on the ice, is younger and is actually still learning the game at the NHL level. Rask has been in the league for 7 years, Sturm is a rookie. So Rask should have SOME level of competence, whereas Sturm can be forgiven for some hiccups. My guess is if Sturm is still with the Wild in 3 years, he will be eons better than Rask.

As for the political stuff...I don't mind if pro athletes want to talk about political or social issues...just not on "company time". If they want to go to speeches, protests, whatever, fine do that. Its just that we as the "common joes" need to realize the BS that comes out of their mouths most of the time. Athletes that are paid millions of dollars to just play a game, generally have no connection to what the regular world is like...living paycheck to paycheck, not having enough hours in a day to take care of the real things that need to be taken care of. I will never say that they have earned the right to give their opinions, as most of them have not. Their right to do that was earned by others. Wow, didn't realize I had climbed up on a soapbox.

Ok, now that that is outta my system...I just ate 6 pieces of bacon...AND FEEL GREAT!!!

agreed on Sturm Gus... By all rights he should probably be playing and developing down in Iowa, i'm guessing most organizations wouldn't have brought him up yet, and he is quite raw. But he does bring energy and a fairly high compete level.

I think he will be a much better NHL player in the years to come. Not every guy can be a super star and lord knows every team needs several key players that don't break the bank or salary cap.

I was fairly impressed with his efforts on the wrap around goal the other night...
