I understand teams have to expose players who have played at least 27 games this year but I thought Seattle can still pick a player who played less than 27 games (for example John Quenville - not that Seattle wants him) if not exempt by the team protecting him or entry level such as Kirby Dach.

Subban was claimed off waivers by Vegas, he wasn't picked in the expansion draft by them.

2 forwards and 1 defenseman that played either 27 games this season or 54 combined this season and last season.

Goaltenders just need to be under contract for the 2021-22 season.

Yes, Seattle can choose anyone they want that isn't protected or draft exempt, regardless of how many games they have played.
