He was called up to the Taxi Squad but it's just an on-paper transaction to comply with the minimum of four players on the Taxi Squad.

York will have a lot of eyes on him down the stretch, to gauge his possible readiness for the Flyers next year

his assets are things the Flyers blueline needs

I’m hearing everywhere that the Flyers are looking to make a splash this offseason for a player of impact. As crazy as to many sound, I’m hoping this player isn’t on defense. Provorov is a horse for us in terms of logging minutes. We got York coming. Myers. Sanheim. Why push these guys back? Just get a compliment to Provorov on the top pair at the right price.

My vote is to go all in on Jack Eichel no matter the cost. My only untouchables to this point is Ivan Provorov and Carter Hart. It would be ideal to not include Couturier in the deal so we have our shutdown stud. Anyone else can go.

We tried to count on unproven D men this year and it was a total disaster. And Provy took a step back as well having to play with Braun. At the very least they need to add a proven top 4 D man imo.

I’d love Eichel. Eichel & Risto would be a great package. I think we’d have to send Coots and TK the other way at the very least to make it work capwise. They aren’t going to take Jake or JVR

Jack Eichel at "no-matter the cost"? Yikes... I'm not sure I do that.
I think I'd be willing to go "no-matter the cost" on Seth Jones or similar... but not on a 10 million dollar cry-baby.

Why is one a cry baby and not the other. The basis of either being moved is the thought that they both don’t want to stay on their respective teams.

I totally agree. I am not married to any first round picks if it means getting a top 10 player.

To Buf: Voracek, Frost, Sanheim/Myers, 2021 unprotected 1st, and top 16 protected in 2022 or unprotected 1st in 2023.

First, they will not trade Coots. Second, if they did he would not go to a Sabers team, it would have to be a team that could contend in short order

The Flyers, IMO, need more than just a complementary piece to Provorov, ala Niskanen. York is completely an unknown quantity as a pro, is rather likely to have some growing pains (as most young defensemen do) at the NHL level. Sanheim and Myers both have significant issues with inconsistency.

As for Eichel, if the Flyers are going to expend major resources on an outside acquisition, I'd rather it be for the top of the blueline.

Eichel would be a dream. I don't see the Flyers realistically having the assets to make the deal happen. It would mean multiple assets, picks, prospects and roster players.

That said, getting Eichel and a "sleeper" right defenseman to pair with Provy would be a dream. But.... I would prefer to see a solid defenseman, a re-shuffling of the forward corps (moving out some of the vets for room and picks) and maybe another goalie to go along with Hart. I like Elliot, and he has been a real warrior for the Flyers, but I think it could be time to look for a younger 1b to play with Hart.

I agree with this, would rather see Jones than Eichel for what it will cost us.

Have you noticed when Morin will take two guys on at once?
That nobody likes to confront him?
He's a bit slow but he, within his capacities is actually OK?
That Ghost refuses to pass to him no matter the circumstance?

Are my ocular receptors on the blink?

My biggest concern with Eichel is the neck surgery, although we don't know the exact nature of his condition. While some players -- Kris Letang comes to mind -- are able to come back at the same level, many others (Simon Gagne, Wojtek Wolski, Derek Dorsett) have returned but not as effectively as before.

Will take a guess at the ask based on an assumption the player would be willing to extend in Philly rather than testing UFA in 2022: Konecny, one of Sanheim/Myers, unsecured 1st round pick in 2022.

I would be ok with us paying that price. And I would be ok with say, 9.5.

would you make that trade Bill?? I think if it is Myers I do it. I would hate to lose TK but I think replacing him will be a lot easier than finding that top D.
