They're one in the same for me. Girgs, Miller take either. If an asset is needed to protect the kids do it.
- SDSabre

I think Girgensons is more useful to this team than Miller. I also think he's marginally more valuable than Miller. Just a personal opinion.

The Bjork vs. Asplund conversation is interesting. I could make a good case for either.
- Slump Buster

From a pure franchise side, you gotta protect the home grown when they are as close as they are right? Like you put x amount of money into growing Asplund.. But I guess you did put around 6M in trade money for Bjork. Yep, can make a good case for either.

An asset is an asset regardless of where he came from. I think the best case for Asplund is that he is still young and might still grow even though his ceiling is still bottom 6. Bjork has higher ceiling but he still might end up being Vesey 2.0.

That's fair. I'm just not sure where he fits when all the forwards are available. And he's got a year longer on his deal (better price sure, but a year longer).

New option, offer them both Miller and Girgs. Clear the cap, helps them get to the floor, and don't use any draft capital for it. Win/Win/Win

Yeah I think so. Two useful, middle 6 guys who have yet to reach their ceilings. So don't let either get taken, bribe them like we did for Carrier. Of course I would never use premium Murrency to do so, but a lower round flier pick is totally appropriate. We only needed a 6th to steer them from Ullmark. But since they knew they wanted Flower, I wonder if that was even necessary.

We think this way, but I bet you would find that the org looks at it slightly different as well. Perfect example, keeping Girgs and letting Kahun walk. Not going to get into with anyone, just is an example of what I'm referring to.

I can't see Bjork and Vesey in the same category. I want to know if front offices believe that if he's put in a position to succeed, can he be a 40 point guy? At that contract, what a bargain. Considering he can play all over the lineup and special teams.

I would agree - I could go a whole game and not notice Vesey where as Bjork is always noticeable. I think the question for him is the same as it is for the Tall One: will he ever be able to add the finish to the freakish size and athletic ability.

IMHO your contract valuations are too high.
Ullmark shouldn't garner anywhere near that money, nor Joker, nor Mitts
-Ullmark at $4.75 for 3
-Mitts at $1.75 for 3
-Joker at $2.5 for 2

Of course, maybe my estimates are too low, but I do think they are closer.

Skinner's contract is a killer though, I agree there. They need to find a way to optimize his production and even then he's likely still overpaid.

- IonSabres

Somewhere between you and I is probably the most realistic. I was just kinda painting the high end scenario. But yes, regardless of where these guys fall, Skinner will keep us from moving forward as quickly as we would like too.

Not sure if this is decided

I wouldn’t feel comfortable if he’s put in a position where you need production out of him

NESN announcers are the biggest homers on the planet. Makes It almost impossible to listen to. Grew up in Eastern Canada, tons of Bruins fans, and cable in the Maritime Provence’s carry’s NESN.

Bjork/Girgensons (pick one, upgrade on the other)

Olofsson/R2 (pick one, upgrade on the other)

Risto/Miller (cut both but we know management is bring at least one of these guys back if not both)

Resign Sam, keep Eichel.

Look to resign Ullmark, find a competent backup (depending on contract demands for Ullmark might need to find 2 goalies)

It's a low bar. Guys like Ristolainen, Miller, Girgensons, Okposo, Reider.. they all live there. They all, however, live on top of Cody Eakin.

Casino may not have the iconic moments that Goodfellas has but it is every bit as good. Sharon Stone is ridiculous in it.

I would take donnie brasco or carlito's way over either of them

if you get okposo to ir it for the next 2 years, and move girgens and eakin, you can afford hamilton

if you tradie risto you can afford reinhart

if you get seattle to take miller, you can afford to get a backup goalie like bernier or reimer

that's all I got for today

And, and, if we can pull of relief of Skinner, let’s say Skinner to Seattle, we retain 2mil per term, plus a girgs or Miller type and a pick as incentive 🤔

Okposo isn't going to LTIR. He doesn't have a concussion. Expect to waive Eakin. Girgensons is probably staying.

Did this. Didn't look too hard into what Vancouver might actually want, but it's a general idea of how I think a trade would go.

My model shows 8M in cap. So if you want to claim I underpaid on a few guys, feel free to dole out some of that 8M.
