Really?
Leafs fans have been down on him for a while now

- jdfitz77

They've used him up pretty good but he still has a few more miles I think.

My plan would be to keep Ullmark for 3 years and add a proven guy on a 2 year deal. UPL/Portillo need more time

Shocking it hurts their ratings and now the message isn't as important....
- ImThatGuy

I don't know why corporations want to shoot themselves in the foot. Coca Cola also did turn around. almost 50% of the voting population gets alienated either way.

Not to get political but what I don't understand is Atlanta is black majority and MLB moves the all-star game to Denver which is majority white and has tougher voter ID laws than Atlanta.

Punish majority black city for a majority white city.

Its tough to weed through all the bullpoop to know what is really happening.

Rather go after Driedger or that kid from Carolina Nedeljkovic(spelling), as 1b to Ullmark

Ullmark can't give you 60-70 games which means you now need two starting goalies.

If Ullmark wants 5m for 40-50 games its just not worth it.

I like your plan
Just don’t know if Freddy is playing at a “proven” level at this point
He’s a bit of a gamble imo

Not to many goalies that do 60 or so games anymore.

Tax Revenue lost is what hurts the state of Georgia
Don’t think it has anything to do with the individuals in the general population

Which in turn punishes a majority black city.

Also Colorado has tougher voter laws than Georgia even after Georgia passed voter laws.

Its bizarre. It doesn't make sense. Its a con game.

New York has some of the toughest voter laws in the country.

No one is boycotting them.

True, but he’s got a point

If we are paying Ullmark 4-5m
And then another “starter” level goalie (I’d assume another 4mil-ish)....

Do we really wanna dedicate that much to the position?

Hell no. He’s the product of the Bruins system and team in front of them

Easy easy pass. He probly also is going to retire

Yeah, and Rob Manfred still maintains his membership to Augusta National, the most exclusive golf club in the world, which is located in Georgia.

I am in the "sports should stay out of politics" camp. When the Sabres score a goal, I will turn and high-five anybody, whether you're black, white, gay, straight, liberal or conservative. That's what it's always been, and what it always should be. Stick with that line of thinking, and they will always come out ahead. Sure, there will be calls by all sides to become "more involved" from time to time, but eventually those sides will lose focus and turn their anger somewhere else. You also avoid hypocrisy that way.

Hurting the population is a trickle down effect
Another potential outcome is the “population” voting against the current lawmakers in the next election

But i doubt those effects were part of the MLB thought process

Still get about 7-8 goalies a season. Thats 25% 7 goalies played 50 or more of the 72ish games last year

If Tuuka Rask is indeed even remotely contemplating retirement, the chances of him signing in Buffalo are near zero. No way a guy that "decorated" wants to end his career on a team that will be nowhere near a cup contender next year.

New York will never be boycotted. There's too much money in that city to do so.

around 50% of the voting population is republican

corporations should stay out of politics instead of alienating half their viewers/customers

Either way I wouldn't be giving Ullmark 5m to play 40 games. Bring someone else in please.
