The team is still not a playoff contender as it stands.

Even if Eichel comes back.

Everyone needs to slow the roll on these prospects.

Im happy Mitts and Cozens are playing well, but the team is still routinely outplayed.

They are still not good enough.

Thanks, nobody here realized that. Good to know that the sky is still falling.

everyone signed but davidsson

it will be interesting to see if he gets an nhl or ahl contract before june

- homiedclown

Not sure what his motivation would be to come to the States for an AHL contract. My gut says they cut bait.

I get the frustration, but honestly do you really expect that roster with that talent sitting out to be a playoff team? I am amazed with the fight the boys have displayed in a disaster of a season.

Huglen is really interesting. I want to see him in the NCAA.

Cederqvist, drafted with the use of the most controversial pick in Sabres history, is a little less interesting to me. But I know he earned a contract in the SHL, so let him cook for a couple more years.

A decision on Kukkonen and Cronholm must be made prior to the 22 draft. Haven't heard much about either.

Botts just knew that the 6th round was stacked in the 2019 draft. You owe him an apology card.

Sabres today, if healthy
Jeff-Jack-VO
Asplund-Reinhart-Mitts
Bjork-Cozens-R2/VO
ZG-Sheahan-Drake

Dahlin-Joker
McCabe-Risto
Bryson-Borgen
Miller

Ullmark
Hutton

Samuelsson pushing. Our team is mostly drafted talent, and it's finally starting to play well. It needs experience and some tinkering, but our recent draft picks from the back half of the 2010's are finally coming to form. R2 as a UDFA, Joker swapped for another prospect while their careers were in their infancy, so not technically our pick, but close enough.

- TheSabresTaco

To me, the exciting thing as far as the roster goes is that there are:
- a fair amount of players who should be moved out ... bolded
- several players playing above their true capabilities ... underlined
- a good year to find decent players in FA at reasonable costs to replace the bolded and push the underlined players down a rung

Kukkonen won't do much offensively, but he's good in his own end, and is tough to play against. Non stop motor, be surprised if Cronholm made it, but things change.

Haha I agree. Still might come out ahead tho. The guy the TML took is still in the Jr SHL at 22. Doubt he ever even crosses the pond. So that's good that he won't make it.

I didn't read last night's posts but here are my takes from last night's game:

- 55 just needs to go. I read on twitter that the shot attempts with him on the ice were something like 24 against to a handful for. This isn't new. He isn't good. I know this board rags on him all of the time but I thought Miller and Bryson were pretty good last night.

- This past week is the perfect example of why I am not paying 23 good money. In one game out of three he is noticeable. When the team is struggling to drive play like it was last night he can't help.

I can no longer get excited about prospects.

The Sabres have had so many "Good prospects" over the last 10 years and maybe 1 or 2 have really amounted to anything.

- ImThatGuy

Have you been watching these games?

These kids are making a difference. They don't all have to turn out to be top line players.

Good post, what kind of incentive would the Sabres need to dangle, for the kracken to claim the great28?

Mitts is playing above his capabilities? Asplund is too? So is Joker?

Asplund I'd say is playing at his projected level. Mitts and Joker have a much higher ceiling. Mitts especially.

I would assume with has many nicknames as he has nothing.. They can trick their fan base who won't be paying attention that it's not the same guy falling over every shift.

55 - 2 shots 2 hits 6 blocks 23+ minutes

24 shot attempts and 55 blocked 25% of them ☝️
And being outshot by a top 3 line in all of hockey. 🤔
Vs. A team of ahl players sprinkled in with a 9 million $ irrelevant bum.

23 - 1 shot 1 hit. Nothing more , nothing less.

Not sure.
He might be the guy they take anyway...relatively low cost, former 1st.

You'll hate me, but if I were Adams and couldn't trade, then I would expose
ZG
Risto
Miller

I would not expose Borgen, or work with them to find a way so they do not pick him.
His play at his cost is too valuable.
