verbal meme

the grim reaper going door to door but its ristolainen murdering the confidence of every young d that gets paired with him

I'm going to say something positive about Ristolainen. The man may be a bad own zone defender, but he has high end intangibles. The on ice results may be poor, but I still think he can be a good mentor for the kids. The guy is all effort all the time. He takes the game very seriously.

It's mind bending that Don Granato wanted to work under Ralph.

That's not true. Most people wanted both Hagel and Estephan. But after Hagel was released, people didn't think much of it. Botterill's big misses, for a guy who seemed to be so in tune with finding lower grade talent, was Blackwell and Hagel.
- TheSabresTaco

I believe Me and you had a agreement that day he was released I was Obviously overdramatic and pissed off .

Then I found our ROR Arguments also I was such a tool.

This is true, but you would have to think Samuelsson might be feeling a tad down on himself considering they are getting PLASTERED

This isn't just a Risto plastering, they are getting destroyed. They have like 8 shots for and 40 against.

This is a very respectable and reasonable post.

High end intangibles
Good mentor for the kids
Guy is all effort all the time
Takes the game seriously

In ice hockey, the captain is the player designated by a team as the only person authorized to speak with the game officials regarding rule interpretations when the captain is on the ice. ... As with most team sports that designate captains, the captain is usually a well-respected player and a de facto team leader.

The captain should be the first one at practice and one of the last to leave. 2 - Captains firmly believe that the best interest of the team always comes first. 3 - Captains are bold, tenacious, fearless, prepared, fluid and enthusiastic. 4 - Captains are great listeners and have a thirst to improve.

Nothing about being a bad own zone defender.

I somewhat agree, but also believe the captain should be one of your more skilled players too. I look across the league and don't see a single 'bad' skilled captain. If risto was a forward, he'd be viewed differently. Forwards need to score points or, less importantly, prevent them from being scored. The contrary for defensemen, especially highly paid ones.

Wondering if it was the plan all along, especially after hiring Appert for Rochester who followed Granato as HC for the USNP. Move Krueger stank to toilet attendant and move Granato to HC, just happened sooner than expected.

Oh absolutely. But it's still the honeymoon phase for himself. He's happy to be here and ready to learn. He'll be paired with a more effective guy in his future. Learn what it takes to battle like an nhler from Risto. For now.
