Any vets they sign, other than Hamilton, should be low contract term.
- TheSabresTaco

I do not see the need to add any addition of vets up front

I know you don't think McCabe is good, but having McCabe-Hamilton pair would be elite.

Up front? Looks ok thus far, but could it be better with a trade? Like what if Olofsson and a 2nd for Tuch. Use Asplund as a 4C.

Trade Risto, sign McCabe, convince Seattle to take Miller with a mid round pick, profit.

1. Trade Risto for a pick and middle 6 forward.
2. Trade Olofsson for a 2nd.
3. Convince Seattle to take Miller for a 3 or 4.
4. Sign McCabe
5. Sign Hamilton or Oleksiak
6. Profit

If they plan the offseason right, they wont need to give Seattle anything to take a player. All they need to do is trade Risto and Miller before the list is due.

-Trade Risto
-Trade Miller
-Have Skinner waive his NMC ( have a real talk with him, no one is going to pick up his 9 million cap)

Protect 7/3/1

1) Eichel
2) Reinhart
3) Olofsson
4) Mittelstadt
5) Thompason
6) Asplund
7) Bjork

1) Dahlin
2) Jokijarju
3) Borgen

1) Ullmark ( I know he is an UFA, but dont have anyone else)

In this scenario, I see Seattle selecting Girgensons, we get a few mid to late picks from Risto and Miller, and we free up 11.475 million in cap.

If you're Jack, watching this team right now, you're seeing some nice and promising things.

You can't do that. One of Risto or Miller (currently rostered) must be exposed.

Also you're going to end up protecting Ullmark because the team will likely have him signed by then, allowing the Sabres to expose Tokarski. If Ullmark and the team can't agree on a contract, the team needs to sign or trade for a compliant goalie, and protect one of Tokarski or the other guy.

Sounds realistic

Imagine making $9M, doing your job at a $5M level if that, and not being able to be fired for it because your severance package would ding your employer for years beyond your anticipated contract length ?

Life hits you hard. If it was my money I’d have no problem telling him that

Skimmer to Seattle would be great.
Have a "real" talk with him, explain to skimmer, how much he is really making and how he's not worth it?

If our prospects are of such high regard, garglesons' isn't going to be the choice.

I'd like to move okposo to Seattle with a few picks

none of our prospects would be exposed by protecting those 7 forwards, it would be;

Skinner
Okposo
Eakins
Girgensons

all others would be either a UFA, or protected either by else or by the rules of the expansion draft.

Hey Matt, we want to sign you to an "NHL deal" to strictly play you in the AHL but we need you for exposure requirements.

Yea no doubt Kev Dawg.
