All of a sudden, the team now has a number of plus shooters too, which seems to have come out of nowhere.

Yeah, hate to say it, but with the injuries and covid turned into a positive for us, not that I wanted to see another blown season.

I think we all agree on Eakin's worth.

Removing him, haven't all of Tage, Ruotsalainen, Bjork, and Asplund all looked good? That's 2 full lines worth right there.

Let's say they keep together the Asplund - Mittelstadt - Tage and Bjork - Cozens - Ruotsalainen lines.

What do you do with the following: Okposo, Girgensons, Olofsson, and Skinner?

I would call Vegas and see if they'd be willing to swap Reilly Smith for Ristolainen.

https://www.capfriendly.com/players/reilly-smith

Then you could go Skinner - Eichel - Smith and Olofsson - Reinhart - Girgensons/Okposo

I think that Reinhart line tells you to see if you can upgrade the wingers there.

- kingcong39

Yeah, that Rhino line..

Skins/Eichel/Ruotsalainen
VO/Rhino/Smith
Bjork/Cozens/Girgs
Asplund/Mitts/Tage

Idk. No matter how you switch things around (because I just (frank)ed the Cozens line), I still think we're another top 6 wingers away (with Smith).

I left KO out, as 13th F.

The reason I left Okposo on the Reinhart line is I don't think there'll be any takers for him and his defense helps on that line.

I think that's why the 2 kid lines work so well, because you have a good defensive winger (Bjork, Asplund) on each line.

It all seems contingent on the ability to offload Ristolainen + Miller along with shoring up the goaltending.

Risto for your rw needs.

Miller to Seattle with a pick.

Ullmark. $4ish. 2-3. Might even go 4 if it’s under $4.

Goalie, c-bus or driedger

Sure does.

And I think we can thank the kids, because if it didn't look like Mitts, Tage and Asplund were developing, that's 3 more holes to fill.

So what can we build with this?

Skinner. Jack. Samson.
Bjork. Cozens. RW #2
Asplund Mitts. Tage.
Grigs. R2. RW #4

VO - trade.
Okposo - jock itch.
Eakin - fire into sun.

Does VO/Risto trade get you a 2RW?

I know everyone is Gaga over Samson center... but we don’t have the RW depth to afford that luxury. We have seen what
Jeff-jack-Sam can do... you go back to that in a meatball system and hopefully find that lightening again.

if tage can kick it up on second line

I really like Blake Coleman if he doesn't do another homer deal for tampa

I was trying to keep the crow line together. But fine with pushing Tage up.

Bjork. Cozens. Tage could be interesting.

I’d guess a 3rw is easier to find than a 2 or 1... how do you think Coleman would mesh with Asplund and mitts?

I’d also consider rieder for the 4rw spot. I’ve liked his game and the dude can skate. Solid on the pk. He’d be an ok 4rw with pk ability and come pretty cheap.

And because it’s been too long and all I remember is the falling. Can grigs skate? Or can grigs keep up with a ...
grigs. R2. Reider line? And does that line have enough pace and d too it?

Or!

Jeff. Jack. Sam.
Bjork. Cozens. Tage.
Asplund. Mitts. R2.
Grigs. 4C. Reider

Can R2 flip Left to Right. Or is he mainly Left or Center?

What 4c might be out there. I hear bjustead is a ufa...

Interesting, but don't know if I want to give up that pick for a guy who is a FA at the end of the year.

Earlier in the week, Amerks coach Seth Appert had huge praise for the way Luukkonen hones his craft on a daily basis. It's a mature approach for a player in his first full year as a pro.

"He puts a lot of time in before practice to prepare for practice, taking care of his body, doing his eye-hand coordination drills," Appert said. "Then we go on the ice and he puts in another seven minutes on his skating inside the crease to sharpen his skating work. Then he puts another 15 minutes on his goaltending habits. This is all before practice, right? And then he goes and attacks practice."

Luukkonen isn't done either. After practice, he does what Appert called "Finnish mountain climbers" on an uphill treadmill.

Hard work will pay off. Glad we have him.

Yep. Keep it going. Learn, play hard, play fast. Get the kids in all situations, etc.

I want to see a nice comeback win, maybe down 3 goals or something.
