I’m a Sam supporter, but i don’t need to cherry-pick the numbers to make them better

Point is:
Sam has been playing well for years now

Idk why some have such a hard time accepting that???

- jdfitz77

From 2017-18 til now he has 198 points in 279 games which equals 58 pts/82 games, the exact figure he's at this season

"If" jack eichel thats "if" he was looking to move on I would contact New Jersey about jack hughes they seem to lost all hope for him
- gerbe75pts

So, why the (frank) should the Sabres want him then?

I would think Mitts would in that scenario. Something like this without considering FA/Trades.

Skinner-Eichel-Olofsson
Mitts-Reinhart-Thompson
Bjork-Cozens-Ruotsalinen
Girgensons-Asplund-Okposo

- Pegullaville

Why break up the line of Asplund Mitts Thompson when they are playing well together. Mitts is playing very well at Center. We don't know if he will play as well at W, and we already know Rhino can play RW very well. Just put Girgelson back at 4C.

He's good, consistent. Anything but a third-liner. Not sure what the argument is

Mitts showed well on the wing early in the year even with Kreuger behind the bench.

Sam can bring the same defensive element that Asplund brings to that line with more offensive fire power.

Mitts can still take draws on the left circle in both the o-zone and d-zone and they can share responsibilities in the d-zone.

Cozens has also expressed his desire to play the middle and he’s had the best impacts of any of our forwards since Granato took over so I think it’s best they keep him there.

Means that Mitts is either the 4C or moves into the top 6 on the wing.

Well maybe, but you can't say that cause they haven't played together. Mean if Eichel stays and depending of what goes down with Rhino you can put together what looks like 3 pretty good lines
Skinner Eichel Rhino
Asplund Mitts Tallness
Bjork Cozens Rusto
Olofsson/? Girgs Caggiula

This was my response that started it all.

But he hasn’t been lousy at all. He just had a hat trick

Idk I think people get way too hung up on “points”

A 55 point Reinhart is better than a lot of 60-65 point players

He wasn’t though
Sam was stuck playing with Griffith & Pouliot,
2 guys who NEVER PLAYED IN THE NHL AGAIN after that season
Yet thanks to Sam, that line still had positive possession numbers

And you can’t possibly make an argument that Berglund, Sobotka & the other dogsh!t we trotted out at 2C we’re better options than Sam

This is not a bad mock draft for the Bill's, we will find out soon enough, can't believe the draft is in a few days.

Bringing up stats from Sam 3 years ago or even 3 weeks ago does not make a case for him going forward. Remember Hall was an MVP and we had that thrown at us a few times. What Sam has done recently as a Center is IMO a small sample size.
Whether Sam will play Center next year will simply be answered by what KA can do in the off season. Is Jack going to be 1C? Will KA trade Risto for a 2C? Will KA dip into FA and bring home the big fish, a real proven 2C? I wouldn’t say Sam will or will not be Center but IMO and like Maury Povich would say “you are not the Center”.

unlike hall, reinhart has been pretty damn consistent for the last 200 games

he is what he is

does not get hurt

current pace is pretty much a 65 point per season player for the last 3 and a half seasons

it's up to the sabres brass what to do with him

is he a second line center, or a first line winger

they have a decision to make for sure with him, and others

the good thing, if eichel wanted out, you can roll cozens, reinhart and casey as your top 3 centers and in a better place then we were when ralph was coaching

I mean we had lazar and sheahan playing in the top 6 on the dot replacing eichel
with staal and eakin as your top 3 centers

Mittelstadt is a natural center, plays a 200 foot game and wins faceoffs.

No way in hell he is getting moved to wing.
