So we're back to re-evaluating the team's outlook on a game-to-game basis? Sweet, fun times for all. Guess if we lose the back-to-back with Florida, we'll be back to the sky is falling? Personally, If we manage a split I'd consider that a success since we don't match up very well with them.
The last few weeks have been fun. Anyone who saw this team play the first couple months of this seasons knows the team has no business being in the position they're in now. They do deserve credit for pulling themselves out of the quicksand. Just do what I do and try to enjoy the rest of the season without excepting any miracles. |

In 2010 the Hawks beat a team that had just won their first playoff series in franchise history on their way to their first Cup win in five decades and the start of their dynasty. In 2017 that same team swept the Hawks out of the playoffs and helped usher in the end of that dynasty. The 8th seed that clinched a PO spot on the last day of the season and nobody thought had any business defeating the mighty Hawks. Let's face it, for all the banner, ticket, and chanting nonsense that's the real reason most Hawks fans hate the Preds. The Hawks couldn't have given two poops about the Preds before that series. Rivalries don't start until both teams have given the other a reason to hate each other. - Squatchy
When you talk about full circle you're alluding to the fact that you won the Stanley Cup which you didn't in 2017. Now the team that was feed it's lunch in 17 did a great job of masking it's warts. At the time I did give the Preds credit because of their play. And yes Nashville can't beat us when we were at our best.. But I do agree with you on the rivalry that has developed it makes the game's fun to watch. |

Eh, it wasn't my intention to allude to the cup. I was thinking more along the lines of the beginning and end of the Hawks dynasty, and how ironic it was that the Preds played a part at both ends. It was a small measure of revenge, but I'd much rather have won the cup. That entire playoff stretch was surreal, the Preds were playing way over their heads the entire time. Getting within two wins of the Cup was an accomplishment in itself... And being that close just makes you want it more.
That series did start something though. Without it, that video never gets posted, and we're not having this conversation right now. Just another brick in the wall of the Hawks dynasty. A little hate in sports isn't a bad thing, as long as you're not brawling in the alley like drunken idiots. I enjoy it! Rivalries are hard to create and even harder to maintain nowadays with constantly shifting rosters and shortening attention spans.

Probably four at least, maybe Five if Saros steals one. Seriously though, If I were the Canes I'd be rooting for Nashville. Not only haven't we beaten you yet, we've only been half-way competitive in one of those games. The Preds aren't anywhere near Carolina's level right now... Then again, neither is Dallas. |
