Looks like the Sens will do whatever it takes to make sure they don't have to travel to Calgary in the playoffs. |

Nice that the CBC picks Calgary games for this guy to learn to do play by play. If they think he's such hot stuff why don't they let him practice in Toronto? |

OT winner last night. Assist today (still in 1st period) So far 5G, 7A in 9 games.
32 shots, 26 hits, 65.22 CF% at 5-on-5.
Quenneville: "I can't say enough good things about how well he's started with us."
Starting to look like a bit more than beginner's luck, etc. - itwasin
Guy leads the team in the playoffs, gets rewarded on the 4th line, healthy scratch. Funny how well people play when they feel good about themselves.
Calgary fuked this up from the beginning. |

2 Points today for Benny. The thing is Bennet's skill was never the question in Calgary, he just didn't seem happy here. I am happy to see him do well, most importantly he looks happier playing with skilled players. Also, nice weather, palm trees and beaches help too. Hopefully Flames will get an impact player in the 2nd round pick we got. Dube and Anderson were 2nd round picks from trades. |

I would be interested in knowing how much pressure management put on Tre to speed up the rebuild.
If he was pressured than he gets a pass, He has bosses too. If he felt that the Flames had the necessary pieces to contend, and that building a team around JG was a great idea then his ass needs to be shown the door. |

Hard to say
The trade for Dougie was a really good trade, never like giving up 1st round picks that early in a rebuild but that’s the only way that happens..The Hamonic trade was too steep of a price, Flames could have used Dobson or Walstrom. snow snowed him on that one, Flames weren’t close enough to risk those picks. Not developing Bennett properly was a shame, everyone thought we had a star in 18 year old Bennett and it never happened. Revolving crease hasn’t helped 12 goalies in 7 seasons is ridiculous, I do like the Markstrom signing though but we wasted a lot of time getting there. Coaching carousel doesn’t look good either.
Facts are he’s had 7 years to fix the team and it’s in worse shape now. He’s failed to chose between rebuilding and retooling, doing neither well.
I don’t think he’ll get fired this year as he has 2 years remaining on his contract and ownership can’t afford to just dump him. He’s going to have to sit down and decide the direction of this team. If it’s Gaudreau and Monahan he’s trading then that would suggest a full rebuild and he doesn’t have time for that. |

Bennett's playing with a skilled player AND a top 10 points leader in Huberdeau - AND he's putting in a honest effort in FLA..
Sucks that he wasn't played more, but he shares responsibility for coasting during the regular season. Sam was sulking and getting his revenge - it's a huge gain by subtraction for Calgary, plus we learned something about our coaches and player development (assuming Bennett keeps pace) |

Actually not that bad of a thing based on this year. I sure see the improvement Canucks made when they dumped them |

Ya and you guys Schmidt who imo is a lot worse than Tanev signed to larger contract for more term. He’s actually dog crap, when I first started watching this year I kept wonder who 88 was, made me feel good when I realized it was Schmidt. Tanev has been the Flames best D this year, when paired with Noah he made him look like a top 2 d. Now paired with Gio, has improved his performance as well. I
Markstrom has played very well, he was outstanding at the beginning, crappy coming back from injury but so were the Flames. He’s battled through and is playing like a true #1 now.
I’d sign both again, in a heartbeat.
Canucks losing Tanev hurt a lot more than Jimmy thought it would.
How’s Beagle, Rousell, and Erikson? That’s some mighty fine signings right there. |

I have no idea why they keep coming here talking about how bad Mary and Tanev have been. They have been great for us. The rest of the team has been poop!

Can you imagine? All thats missing is Marchand...
To be honest Matthew lost a bit of his edge this year, it showed. |

Mathew has been playing injured, not sure if it is a physical issue or his ego. Hoping he will turn it around next year.
