Watching the post game Valiquette said when Orr was in the lineup other teams knew and didn’t try half the stuff they did when he wasn’t in the lineup. If anyone thinks Wilson didn’t know there was no one to challenge him last night I don’t know what to tell you. That’s why the need for a physical 3rd line and 4th line with some guys that can throw them is so important. I’m not saying get a guy that’s only a goon and plays 5 minutes a night, but I’d be willing to give the 15th overall for Jordan Greenway to play in the top 6 and then go sign a guy like Goodrow.

What's sickening is the NHL hasn't responded to this BS, if Wilson is in the game Wednesday and the Rangers have any backbone there should be retaliation without regard to him or any other Caps player

But when what happens last night happens and you see Zib skating around THE ENTIRE INCIDENT and never dropped his stick once, that might infuriate me more. That’s a mentality that needs to change. Panarin jumped in for his teammates but then watching Zib I was extremely pissed. Every single Cap defended each other and then there’s Zib skating around the pile with his gloves on and stick still in his hand but then says in the presser how upset he was about it. Save it.

You build your top 9 around Panarin Zib Laf Kakko Kravtsov Kreider. At least 2 of the 3 spots need to be guys that play with a little emotion/grit. The 4th line then needs to be 3 guys that can play but have an edge to them. Maybe a 4th line of Goodrow Rooney Smith or something along those lines.
Gauthier Chytil Strome Blackwell should all be traded.

To be fair to Zib, it that guy takes a head shot his career is probably over. He has conditioned himself to stay out of that. Fight or flight, and he is conditioned for flight.
The first scrum where Panarin, Zib, Buch all jumped back in on him was good.
But the rest of the team on the bench should have immediately had in there soft heads, "We should never let that happen to our first line again" and went out and made every statement possible by finishing every single check hard, making life a miserable hell for every single Capital player and then gun it after Wilson ever time he was near the puck.
Not getting into that mentality after seeing what happened to Panarin and after HE stuck up for his teammate blows my mind. And I think most hockey fans would agree with that. I agree 1000% that the Ranger should call up someone to take out Carlson or Backstrom for their playoffs. A stick across the knee or ankles.
