Unfortunately, yes that was the prevailing idea. Not that we are proud of it. Just jaded by the league's lack of response in the past.

I get the eye for an eye view, not a big fan of it, as don’t think in this case it would have made one bit of difference. Who was to serve that role? Kreider, Trouba and Lindgren out, those three are the ones likely to retaliate.

Not parent, just making sure i follow. What would have annoyed more is if the rest of the team did nothing while Buch was being punched in the back and Panarin was thrown down. Each man reacted accordingly. Most teams lack a Wilson, why they are so hard to find, though he went way over the line. Plus the Caps tweet was as low brow as possible

100% spot on. Even if you go to the scumbag/Wilson level, who on our team can do that right now?

This will be the biggest piece of the JD/Gorton puzzle this summer. How can we turn our spare parts into valuable pieces that make us a tougher/more physical team to play against.

1) Wilson lost his temper yet again and took his anger out on Buch while he was lying face down on the ice. In the following scrum, Panarin lost his helmet, got his hair pulled and was dangerously rag dolled onto the ice and appeared to hit his head on the ice.

2) Lack of physical response by the Rangers for the 3rd period. Not even a hint of retribution towards Wilson or Caps top players.

You know I went to bed all pissed off and didn't watch any of the post game or replays really, Can only see so much at work but I kept seeing people talk about hair pulling and the slewfoot so I rewatched it a few times on my phone. TPC you were right, that was beyond a scrum and that slewfoot was calculated and intended to injure.

I will make a phone call and demand 50 games...does anyone have the number?

Washington’s Tom Wilson has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for Roughing NY Rangers’ Pavel Buchnevich.

And my view is what would retribution due in that case? Don’t think it had one impact on the loss and no real message would have been sent, especially with Wilson back. The players on the ice with no kreider, trouba and lindgren are built for that role. Who is doing it? Maybe that is he argument for a tougher group, then who are you dumping for that player? I agree an agitator is needed for the third/fourth line, but that’s not why they lost last night.

Worst part in all of it was, rangers literally did nothing to start it. On PP looking for a rebound, then a few seconds later two of our players could have been killed. Brain stem is an on off switch in your head, both players could’ve been turned off.
