I couldn’t believe I was yelling when Blackwell put Wilson into the boards.

Wednesday is must watch type of stuff. The league has created this.

Don't get your hopes up, I am 80% sure the Rangers will just go into the fetal position

This is why player policing is important.
Look at Wilson's suspension history and the reason for suspension. He is hurting players with late hits and cheap shots.
Some of those would have been policed and that policing would give even a emotionally crippled Wilson pause.

While violence isn't the best of answers. Policing and creating boundaries on the ice are very important. Otherwise the Wilson type, who completely justifies in his head acting out like a 10 year old in a mans body, keeps repeating the same poop.

it's amazing how much the entire hockey world has banned together for this in total outrage against this thug and the non suspension

whoever plays Washington in the playoffs I will be their biggest fan, even Marchand, I'll put on a big giant fake nose in support of him if he faces these criminals

"policing" wouldnt be necessary if the ramifications of this behavior were worse than a fine of 0.10% of his AAV and no suspension

Rangers should forfeit the game. Saying it’s unsafe to play against this guy. Make a statement. Play warm ups, opening faceoff, let them score a goal..and skate off the ice. Congrats caps you win

You are right. But in my history of watching the NHL, the NHL has NEVER been consistent or implemented enough of a serious consequence.
I remember when the NHL would campaign that repeat offenders would get harsher suspensions. Where did that go?
So the NHL has always been a joke. Thus the on ice policing is needed.

i mean i agree for sure. this is going to make things more dangerous overall. it will be 100% on the NHL if anyone is seriously injured tomorrow or in any game in the future as a result of wilson, any other players with a history like his, or retribution towards one of those players

This is one of my favorite plays of the past five years:

That was retribution for Wilson's hit on Marchessault in the SC Finals of 2018. Wilson took out four players (including two Penguins) with cheap shots on his way to winning the Cup that year. When he won it I felt like I had to vomit. I wish the Pens still had Reaves. Even if he took a long suspension and got a 5 minute major match penalty that the Pens had to kill it would be worth it to see Wilson having to be helped off the ice (ideally with a pool of blood on the ice) and out for a while with broken facial bones.

I had the same thought. Would be pretty unprecedented and send a strong message. A lineup full of goons sounds much more entertaining though. If only we had a few...

Is it possible they are considering the incident with Panarin as separate? How is that not even mentioned? Hoping more to come but not holding my breath.
- TC88

Was thinking the same. $5k for Buch, but no mention of Panarin --- could another ruling be forthcoming??

I guess unless a player is wheeled off on a stretcher attached to monitors, its a slap on the wrist.

I don't care if he can't skate, have two Ranger players carry him on each arm and just drop him right in front of Wilson
- TPC

Don't even give him any red & blue gloves! And only wooden sticks!!!

It’s perfect actually. We no longer need pts and it sort of ruins the integrity of the division. Free two pts for the caps hurts Bs, Isles and Pens
