I’m not a big vegetable fan, but if Tom turns into one at some point...oh what a joyous day that would be

Any ref with a pair should have given him.....and even his coach who was swearing at the call....an abuse of official. Not doing so encourages his behavior, especially flexing in the penalty box after what his coach referred to as “just a scrum”. It is beyond me how Wilson continues to maraude his way around the division with impunity. And no penalty for the goalie leaving the crease, pulling and pushing Rangers and throwing a few punches. Where was the two minutes for leaving the crease and why didn’t an official lead him to a spot away from the altercation as the rule calls for? I guess they figure Panarin started it by trying to pull Wilson off a prostrate Buchnevich who was getting punched in the back of the head face down with Wilson’s stick under his neck.
Maybe the extra 2 Wilson got was for pulling hair. Officiating was pathetic.

It also seemed like the officials decided to stop calling smaller infractions in the 3rd out of fear they may get Wilson mad again. The whole thing was just not in the realm of normal hockey.

Wilson was looking to be triggered to justify his own insanity. It's poop like this you see in beer league hockey.

Level 1:
So the Rangers can just, say, grab Backstrom, tear his helmet off and pile-drive him and it might cost as much as $5,000?

- jimbo83

Sounds like decent value.

Who's gonna do it?

The best thing they could do is forfeit the game. It’ll never happen but man would that send a message to the league.

You gotta wonder if it was something lingering. Especially since it is claimed to be a LBI.

Quinn actually said it's not related to what was bothering him before, he's out the last 3 games because he was hurt in the incident

I think the DoPS only cares about blatant headshots resulting in injury. At least that appears to be the gold standard.

Sorry, I know where you stand on this issue, ovbiously.
But, if they need more than these 2 examples to care about head safety, we might as well stop talking about it right now.

Tom Wilson should be banned for life...not because of this but because he has been suspended for more than 100 games and only played 565. Any player who is suspended 20% of the time for injuring other players takes more from the game than they can ever contribute.

Put it this way: "yeah Tom Wilson is one heck of an accountant. Too bad he is in jail one out of every 5 weeks for putting his coworkers in the hospital. Oh well, what can you do, amirite?"

I know but I am being sarcastic too. There is no consistency or standard with their rulings. It really just comes down to:

"Did Buch or Panarin have resultant head injuries?"
"No?"
"Then just fine him and be done with it."

I was shocked at seeing that 20% of all his penalties are majors!! That's insane.

Where are you getting that amount from? I am counting roughly in the low 30's.

Edit:

I think you are reading a quote wrongly. One source mentions he has been suspended most of these times within a 105 game span.

Well, it was an off the cuff remark, so maybe I'm the one who is wrongly!
Technically, they correct use of the word by definition, but way more awkward than the usual usage of read incorrectly, or read improperly or misread.

Man, I really need to shut the (frank) up and get some work done!!! Bad day for this.
