Did they call up Geertsen?
Someone mentioned it on one of these boards, IDK I'm jumping around too much these last couple days! But, I don't see it on NHL.com or NYR twitter (main page).

Don't think so haven't seen anything they won't and they most likely won't respond tonight either Wilson will probably have a hat trick tonight

Eagerly await to see what the Rangers response is tonight. I think they probably have someone knock Chara out with one punch to set the tone. Then they will take care of Wilson after that

Not saying this implies anything, but the #NYR just postponed their pregame media availability with David Quinn. Was supposed to be at 11:30am.

The craziest part is the league doesn’t even mention it in its 5k fine announcement. It’s like that body slam never even happen. Premeditated because he physically made sure his helmet wasn’t on then proceeds to pull his hair and head down as they’re going down. It’s amazing how bad it really was and Parros just ignored it.

It was 2 separate incidents with 2 different players. It should have been handle individually.

During the course of a game you say, oh poop, nice move, what a shot or get the (frank) outta here. When he was slammed it was what the (frank) was that, then you hope he wasnt hurt. When you first see it and think that, the play is worthy of a suspension.

Only guy who will probably do anything is Smith, and Wilson will probably beat him senseless.

Hate saying it, but the Rangers will have to play dirty, they can't match up physically if they go the clean route.

This will never happen but how great would it be if one of the kids does something, a spear, shot to the head, anything to Wilson.

Rooney will drop them too but he's no match for Wilson.

I thought it would be viewed as 2 seperate infractions when the fine didn't even mention anything about actions against Panarin. What a joke the league is. Makes you wonder what video they were looking at or if they somehow justified Panarin's portion as not reviewable.

Yup. I'm guessing nothing happens. Like usual. Maybe a fight that Wilson wins, but thats about it.

No one should try to fight Wilson, we'll just lose more players. Every one of them should be swinging that stick though at every other player in the Caps lineup. JD should hand out $5,000 gift cards to the entire roster before they take the ice.

This is my guess as well...which is why we need TRADES

Buch, Chytil, Nils, 21 first for McDavid
Kravtsov and Jones for both Tkachuk brothers (3 way deal, maybe add conditional as sweetener)
Geersten for Hamrlik

I'm not sure why Gorton hasn't done this yet isn't he paying attention???

Exactly...NYR isn't built as a "team" right now. This is like a season long audition for 75% of this team....which is why NYR gets smoked by veteran teams or by teams when the games actually mean something. Gorton said, he can't put a team on the ice of 19-20 year olds, but he has. I don't blame him. At least going forward he has a better idea who he wants for the future and who he want to package in a deal.

The down side to this approach is that NYR has almost zero role players or gritty players.

The only way NYR can respond tonight is to take some liberties on the Caps goalie and star players. Gotta let the Caps see that just b/c Wilson can beat the crap out of the entire NYR team doesn't mean that they will leave the game unscathed.

Ghost gets a hearing for love tapping a guy into the boards after a goal, Wilson doesn’t for attempted murder. You can’t make it up

Rangers are 4-3 vs Caps this year and they didn't goon it up. Just play their game and hit Wilson every time he steps on the ice...

That does nothing.
We only have 2-3 guys that can throw a meaningful hit on someone Wilson's size. So, with the rotating match ups of random line changes, that would amount to like 3-4 hits throughout the game. That's not a message, it's a regular game.
If they feel they HAVE to do something, but don't WANT to they will most likely call up Geertsen and there will be one fight.
If they WANT to do something to send a message loud and clear, they may take liberties with Caps not named Wilson. I put this as unlikely, but I'd gladly pause the game to go make some popcorn for it!!!

Im not in agreement with you on this one, the Cap players can retaliate and do the same to us IE, Zib, Fox, Laf, KK etc.

But Im all for using Wilson as a practice tee for off season baseball practice. If the refs called 15 slashing and cross checking penalties, just think of the practice our penalty killing will get.

We would drop from 8th to 17th in PK by the end of the game.
