I’m not saying he’s not a teacher I’m mostly baffled by in game poop or game planning. Everyone on here know the game the islanders plan but it’s always seems a shock to the rangers. I’m tired of come back from a tv time out to see his boy Howden’s line on the ice and sometimes in the O zone. The rangers I believe are a better skating club than the islanders but you would never know it in the games they have played against one another . As for the pp I agree about KK how does the coaching staff not see that. Anyways LGR

I agree about Howden shouldn’t be out there after timeouts but where’s panarin? Zib? Laf? fox? Buch? They playing tonight?

Agreed LGR.

I think sometime we don't give credit to the other side as much as we should. The rangers need to play stronger, no question, but the Isles are playing the exact game they set out to play tonight.

For what it's worth, Howden has arguably been their best forward tonight, but I get the sentiment.

Hopefully this now likely failed playoff race teaches these guys that you can't take any period in any game for granted and they learn to grind out the close games. All in all for being the youngest team in the league, 13th in points and 5th in goal differential is a season that the team should be proud of, playoffs or not.

Last thing on this because I don’t want to be that guy that carries on for ever. They look like there not there because they can’t play their normal style against teams like the islanders. There’s no lanes to move the puck they way they do against the dog poop teams in the league. The need short passes and skate the puck. They need good puck retrieval.
I’ve stayed out of the DQ most of the year but watching what they are trying to do every game against these guys is just so frustrating. What the saying , doing the same thing over and over again with the same results is the definition of insanity

Looking forward to the summer to see what the management thinks they need to do to improve the club. I’m hoping for a bit more muscle that can play.

That’s exactly what they need. Let’s see how it gets addressed

This was like watching the bubble Rangers from last year. No intensity, no skating, no hitting. Just a lot of fly by stick checks.

It’s decisions like leaving the PP out there for the full 2 minutes when they can’t get anything going that boggles my mind about Quinn. His in game adjustments need ..... adjusting.

He has the same game plan every night. This game is almost identical to last week. Pathetic honestly from him and the players

Here's the thing I don't get about the adjustments argument. We've been one of the better 2nd & 3rd period teams in the league. If DQ doesn't adjust, why are they better in the later periods?

Are they actually better in the later periods?

Theyve gone into 3rd periods with massive leads and walk out of the game just barely holding on numerous times.

I can’t stand the nice guy nonsense when ur getting embarrassed on home ice. At around the 3 minute mark Varlamov was trying to grab a puck that was bouncing off his blocker and arm and instead of taking a swip at the loose puck Howden puts his arms out so he doesn’t make contact with varlamov. It’s 4-0 with 3 minutes left, take a swip at the puck. Best case you put it in, worst case the isles take exception and you stir your team up a little.

Because they wake up. Kinda hard to get worse from how flat they come out nightly

This is the same game plan as last game and the same results. This is what they looked like in the bubble. There is little room out there and this team loves to make 1827493 passes. It works against Buffalo and the devils. That’s why the pens, bruins and isles owned the rangers all year

They have some of the better goal differentials in 2nd and 3rd periods throughout the entire league. +11 in 1st periods, +15 in 2nd periods, +12 in 3rd periods.
